What was so hard to understand ? They wrapped up the current story , explain what Darkseid is up to, hinted at a multiverse (also involving Darkseid's quest), and then set-up the Secret Society of Super-Villains/Legion of Doom/whatever.
The Writer of that book with the daughter was mentioned in the first couple issues, in those 2 page "Secret Files".
The backup story starts filling in the questions about Pandora.

I like her. She has some back story now and a yet-to-be-revealed-motivation for what she's doing. Phantom Stranger basically just floats around and watches, and "assists" when it suits him

And Pandora has made me curious now about what his real name is.

Probably. Despite everything Didio & crew say, they had to have come with an escape plan if the NU-52 was a flop (which it's slowly becoming).

Ok calm down. It is going to be OK. I really do not think there is going to be an escape plan. This new universe is them going all in. They will be gone before the go back to the old universe.

However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.

I was one of the people actually enjoying this arc a lot, up until this issue. It had moments of good, but mostly felt crammed and rushed. I don't know if that makes sense, but it just felt uninspired...like when you read a Stephen King book, and its great all the way...til you reach the ending.
