You know what would be cool?

Cena wins a brutal match, Rock leaves after shaking Cena's hand, Cena can barely stand, lights go out, they come back on and the Kings of Wrestling, Tyler Black, and/or some of the other really good FCW talent are standing over Cena and just beat the holy shit out of him as they announce their arrival.

Sure it's ripping off the Nexus thing, but it could still be a cool way to end the show.

WWE would never do that, and I can't see them using the main event at WM to launch unproven guys like that, but it would be cool.

Yeah, it's going to be really difficult based on how they've done things so far.

When HHH/HBK happened in Phoenix and HBK was forced to retire, it was a situation where the crowd was evenly split and sad to see him leave, but they found a way to still make it feel like a satisfactory conclusion. But that's because it actually was an evenly split crowd and the match was absolutely phenomenal.

This match is not going to be as good (probably), and isn't going to be as evenly split in the crowd, so the reaction is going to lean heavily towards the Rock no matter what. Trying to keep Cena a face and have him look strong, is almost certainly going to make the crowd react in a very negative way, which would not be good. And having the Rock win would probably make Cena look bad (unless Rock cheats some how and/or is willing to come back to continue the series this summer or whatever). The only logical move is to make Cena win and turn heel, thereby playing off that crowd reaction, but that also seems like something they just aren't interested in doing at all. And I can't see it playing out like Rock/Hogan where Rock can raise Cena's hand and have the anti-Cena folks actually turn in his favor and become pro-Cena.

The problems all stem back tot he way the Cena character has been handled over the last few years and the ways in which the crowd has turned on him, combined with the build to this match not doing anything to alleviate those issues.

I am not sure they can pull it off, but hopefully they can find a way to make a satisfying ending to the show.

It really depends what they plan on doing next. But with their track recond I don't have any faith either.

I caught a couple of ROHs yesterday and the American Wolves/Future Shock storyline is pretty good. Even though Eddie's coming off like a bad guy I'm still siding with him cause he's one of my guys. But O'Reilly isn't coming off great either. His admiration of Davey is kind of on the creepy/kiss assy side. So it really makes the storyline good.

Agreed, it's been a fun angle so far.

Quick match day just to keep up with the resolution. I watched Hardcore Holly vs. Randy Orton from back in '02. Orton showed a lot of fire. This was a rematch from the previous week when Orton beat Holly. Holly ended up getting fed up with Orton and kicking him in the balls for the DQ.

Match of the Day goes to Randy Orton vs. Hardcore Holly, of course.

The Briscoes are being noticed:

When ROH was purchased by Sinclair Broadcasting Group, ROH COO Joe Koff said at the time, "I'd like to believe our guys are content to wrestle with the ROH brand, strategy, and work, but I wouldn't want to stop them if WWE came calling. That is the pinnacle. This is no different than working AAA ball and the Big Show (Major League Baseball) calls them."

Dave Meltzer at f4wonline.com has confirmed that longtime ROH tag team The Briscoe Brothers were considered for hiring by WWE, but were not offered contracts due to their contract with ROH. PWTorch.com is also reporting that Adam Cole, who will appear in this weekend's main event of the 10th Anniversary Show, was also considered for a WWE contract but was not offered for the same reason.

Update on Briscoe Brothers and Adam Cole story concerning WWE contracts:

The story that the Briscoes Brothers and Adam Cole were blocked by ROH from signing with WWE was changed to more accurately reflect that WWE sent out feelers on the possibility of offering contracts, but were rebuked. No contracts were ever offered to any of the men as best as can be determined.



Surprised ROH blocked WWE this time.

I have to admit that there's a part of me, the ROH fan part, that is glad about this.

In comparison to the way he was the week before, Cena was smiley and playful. He never should cracked a smile at all and he should have been out there from start to finish as opposed to showing up midway and then getting the hell out of dodge before the Rock retaliated. I don't see what was so devastating about the comments Cena made to the Rock. Like the Rock, Cena was repeating himself until he called the Rock out for using notes during his promo but I'm sure that was purposely planned beforehand in an effort to give Cena some ammunition because the Rock has never been that sloppy in the past. Furthermore, I don't see what's so pure fucking wrestling goodness with Cena acting like only the Rock is benefiting from all of this. He conveniently leaves out the part where the WWE is making money off the Rock being there in any capacity and how if the Rock genuinely didn't give a damn about the WWE then he never would have come back at all, so he ends up looking like he's full of shit himself.

I mean, it's easy for Cena to play WWE mascot and condemn the Rock for not being there full time anymore since he never had half of the Rock's success outside the WWE. Now if there were a scenario where what movies Cena made were generating the same kind of success as it has been with some of the Rock's movies and he still chose to evolve around the WWE then what he would be saying would carry more weight but that's not the case. I'm not insinuating that the Rock has consistently been on fire promo wise either, the whole "Kung Pow Chicken/Bitch" thing was weak but I still haven't seen any indication of Cena completely eviscerating the Rock on the mic either. Nothing neither one of them has said thus far has amazed me, honestly.

You are taking it way too seriously. Try to have fun and don't over dissect it.
