Do you consider your significant other

Postby Strict31 » Thu Mar 01, 2012 10:44 pm

to be your best friend?

Like, if you had a best friend before you were married or engaged or in a relationship, is that person no still your best friend? I've heard a lot of married people say their husband or wife is their best friend. And when people get married, often even their closest friendships drift apart.

So is your Significant Other your best friend?

They don't sound like very good friends, I guess.

God No.

I like(fucking)her but I don't feel my significant other should be my everything. I like my space sometimes. I like having my own group o friends that I can chill with with out worrying about hurting their feelings because i don't feel the need to go with them as they shop for a goddamn blender. :smt011

It's sad she had to hear this from the forums first, but I guess par for the course when you date Alchemic Spider.

Well...is she really an S.O. or just the latest chick you're fucking? I mean, it seems to me that a fuck-partner and a Significant Other ain't necessarily the same thing.

No she's definitely my significant other. It's totally legit...although not facebook legit.

A significant other should be *significant*. I think an S.O. is basically somebody you are almost married to. And, if I had one, I would think she should be my best friend. My personal belief is that a man's wife should be his best friend (and vice versa). That's love. Now of course, a married man and woman should also have their own best friends, hence the best man and maid of honor.

I honestly do. She may very well be a keeper. This is uncharted territory for me.

I honestly think my best man would actually be a best woman.

I guess times have changed. I can't abide by that, personally. That being said, I'm all for people doing what is right for them as long as it's not hurting anybody else.
