Spidey-Man wrote:The mystery of who Façade was. and Facade killed Lance Bannon, an old rival of Peter’s, after Lance finds out who he is.

It was hinted he was John Jameson. JJJ had lied and said he was with his son at the time of the murder, but then admitted he was not.

He knew Betty Brant, we know that. Betty and others vow to figure out who did it. Façade is beaten but gets away. He goes to Lance’s graveside but we cant’ see his face. He knew Lance too.

There was a 4 issue story. At the end, nothing is revealed about this. At the end, a mysterious figure appears who is we later find out in subsequent issues Ben Reilly.

The clone saga starts right after this, becomes never ending, and the mystery of who Façade is never brought up again to my knowledge. Lance Bannon’s death remains unavenged.

Supposedly, Slott is going to have something Facade related in the .1 issue with Johnny Storm and Spidey in space.

some of these seem to just be mysteries or vauge resolutions rather than full blown plots that were dropped

A lot of unfinished comics rather than unfinished plots.

That wasn't a dropped plot, it was killed by editorial. DeFalco was going to bring baby May back, but it got vetoed and they decided to do the reboot instead.

That was last month. Spider-Man is hurrying through the city stopping every crime he can because of the machinations of the plot. Spidey catches F.A.C.A.D.E. doing a crime in a single throwaway panel, and right before F.A.C.A.D.E. randomly tells Spider-Man who he is, Spider-Man cuts him off and leaves.

It was a typical "fuck the longtime fans" moment from Slott and Wacker.
