Dialog boxes seem to be an option this time...you can still play them, but you can also pick the 'action' option at the beginning which makes the game basically a 3rd person shooter (meaning more your actions have consequences rather than what you say). I haven't tried the other two yet but I know one of them gives you the traditional menu's and the other something that I haven't tried yet.

And I just remembered I left the Rakthi alive in 1, wonder if they'll pop up.

The only thing I noted that was significantly different was the multiplayer, which doesn't seem like an evolution to me. But that's mainly because I do not give a shit about multi-player, and feel that its development has taken away attention from much more important areas.

But if a person is eager for the MP stuff, then, I guess.

So...launch day glitch:

Some folks are reporting that they cannot import faces from saves from the previous two games. Bioware is aware of this glitch and is working on a fix. For PC users, a fan-made mod addresses this problem.

Played a bit last night. Been playing this afternoon.

Fucking in love.

So far, better than ME2 but I'm only about 3 hours in. The shooting mechanics are much better. The guns feel better shooting.

I found that too, but after playing it all day yesterday the story feels truncated.

Still haven't had an actual chance to play, so this only based on what I am hearing and my own personal feelings, but I am continuing to hear some pretty discouraging information about the available squad members. Since I knew that Garrus, Tali, Ashley/Kaiden, Liara, EDI, and James are the only confirmed permanent squad members I had made plan to use my original team of Garrus and Tali. Now I am hearing that Tali isn't available until later in the game. So basically without the inclusion of Miranda or Thane as permanent squad members, I am being forced to use characters who I already either extremely dislike or don't really want to use.

I think the smartest thing for BioWare to have incorporated would have been a more personalized squad recruitment system. Perhaps I want to recruit Miranda, Garrus, Thane, and Tali for my team but I don't want to recruit Ashley, Liara, Jack, or the new character James. Maybe they could have even added in things like if I choose Miranda for my squad, characters like Ashley and Jack would refuse to join. This being the final game in the series, I feel that BioWare should have factored in the fact that people like certain characters and want to explore their stories more than others.

Regarding a few of your preferences...so far Mordin and Thane were killed which annoys me since Thane was the best SMG wielded by far

I really really really want Legion though. Best tech guy by far.

I'm ok with the character options that we have. It's the final part of the story.. I'm ok with BioWare wanting some level of control over that.

If the one of the biggest parts of Mass Effect 2 wasn't to develop your squad, gain their trust and loyalty, and then keep them alive on the final suicide mission, then I would agree with you. Several of those squad members are characters who I feel invested in now. I care about what happens to them as much as, if not more, than I care about what happens to Shepard, Earth, and the rest of the universe. Knowing that I have Garrus to fall back on eases the pain a little. After having Garrus on almost every mission since he first joined my squad in the first game, it just wouldn't feel right without him. It bothers me that I may get nothing more than a small cameo by these characters, when characters that I don't care for are being shoehorned back in. While I dislike Ashley and Liara, I understand that they have their fair share of fans. This is why I feel that it would have been wise at this stage for BioWare to have left squad recruitment in Mass Effect 3 more open ended.

Forgot to mention, a big issue I have is how the side missions work in the journal.

Remember in ME2 how every we we did something the journal would be updated accordingly so you could refer back to it? This time it seems frozen like when you need to find data terminals leaving me stumbling blind. Took me forever to realise i had to leave the Citadel and go to an entirely different system to get the Black Market artifacts to further the Blue Suns/C-Sec gun-running part go get all of Aria's merc gangs.

Jarik aka the Prothean is incredible. Best biotic powers and his rifle cover when he's using it is great support. Just like in ME2 I've opted for the Mattock semi-automatic rifle over the Avenger or other fast rate rifles. It's only as slow as my finger and every shot is devastating.

I really want to buy the rifle you can get in the Spectre office. it's $250,000 I think. I only have about 100000. Dunno of its worth saving my money for it though, but it looks sweet.
