Nintendo had three "Nintendo Direct" presentations online today. These were pre-recorded videos; one for Japan, one for Europe, and one for USA. Japan had a ton of info with stuff I'd love to get. Europe also had a lot of stuff in it. USA... a couple of things.

*sigh*

I am curious about the tease (wtih no info) for a Capcom, Namco, and Sega collaboration. For Japan of course.

Hmnn...

"Tekken" Producer Harada Wants to Reinvent Fighters with Wii U

Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada hopes to streamline that complexity with Nintendo's upcoming Wii U system, using its unique tablet controller for a variety of purposes, including displaying move lists (no more having to pause the game to check!), frame data, and combo damage. He went into more detail in an interview with Nintendo Gamer:

"I thought about how I used to play arcade games a lot. The arcade stations have a device called a ‘live monitor’ in addition to the main screen, and it occurred to me that they might be capitalising on this existing implementation of the technology."

Playing Mass Effect 3.

Graphics have once again been massively overhauled..shader upgrade makes it a lot darker at times though. Hacking terminal minigames are gone, health system is back to 5 lifebars protected by fields so medigel isn't as useless as it was last game....

A lot more emphasis has been placed on run-and-gun gameplay...even moreso than last game. Currently on the Turian moon, still early in the game. But it feels a lot more like a 3rd person shooter than a freeroam game like the others in the series were. Maybe once things settle down and I get to the squad building that'll happen.

BTW, my carry-over upgrades from ME2 utterly shifted the balance of power in my favor. I've got inferno ammo again and it totally rips everything to shreds. Unparallelled.

Depending on when Best Buy shipped my order, I should be getting this either tomorrow or Wednesday. I have been very excited about this game since I finished Mass Effect 2 damn near 2 years ago, however, the closer it gets to the launch date the more nervous I get. I am hearing some pretty bad stuff, like how story elements have been overly simplified to make new comers feel more welcome or that the list of permanent squad members has been gutted. Without providing too many spoilers, what has been your overall experience so far in terms of story content and returning characters.'?

It does seem a lot simpler with not as much depth as before...combat is the primary focus but I'm hoping once the start of the war stabilizes it'll improve. Things are happening, but it's more like they're happening around me rather than being slowly fleshed out like in the other games. It's very frantic on all fronts.

As for returning characters, so far I've got Garrus and Liara on my squad. Had Ashley but the game takes her away for a while (not sure in permanent yet, we also get *extra spoiler*
[Reveal] Spoiler: Click to Expand
EDI in her robot body
*extra spoiler* and right now I'm going on a mission that on paper apparently gives you the chance to recruit Aria from Omega in ME2. Oh yeah, from NPC Chakwas and Joker are back.

I'm going to be buying Mass Effect 3 sometime this week, but it's going to be awhile before I get to it. I decided that I wanted to play all three games as one big huge game, so I started a new Mass Effect 1 playthrough last week.

I figure I should be able to get to the third game sometime within the next couple of weeks.

Thank you Troy for the sig

That definitely worries me. I know that for some reason BioWare is giving players the option of cutting out the decisions all together or dumbing down the action to enhance the story...so I guess that I will have to choose the latter to get a better story experience.

Excited about Garrus being a permanent squad member. He is the only character who I used on almost every mission in both games. Without Garrus, this wouldn't be the same experience for me.

I could care less about Ashley. I never liked her in the first game. Despite the fact that I feel that I treated her with mild neglect in the first play through, the game shoehorned me into a relationship with her, so I had to "cheat" on her in the second game to start a relationship with Miranda. In all subsequent play throughs, I just killed her to prevent this from happening.

Garrus is awesome. I too used him all the time, the best squad member hands down.

I hope Legion returns, he was fun. Also, Katsumi is an NPC which means Zaeed Massani is probably nearby as well. There's also lots of cameo's from ME1 and ME2 characters all over the place...probably to tie up loose ends. A pity Thane is too ill to fight in this game :(

The "build an army" feature is interesting too. I've so far recruited almost every mercenary group as a base and then I'll get onto theBiotics Academy where I expect to get Jack again.

I finally get what the complains about the neutered squad selection was. I thought I'd be getting more as the game progressed but it just stayed at 4. Weak.

Gamefly sent me an email early Monday that they shipped Mass Effect but it hasn't been delivered yet. I think a mail man might have swiped it. :smt017

Haha this guy is crazy. The previous promo he did with the Tekken producer was also pretty funny.
