I FINALLY watched Peter Jackson's Dead Alive (aka Brain Dead) and I thought it was hilarious. It's so over the top and ridiculous but there was still a charm to it that you couldn't help but just sit back and let it take you. The gore was GREAT! And I say this as someone who's not a huge fan of gore if there's no substance to the story. I cracked up almost through out as my friends squirmed and found it funny how I was more grossed out by the uncle not washing his hands after using the bathroom and touching all over a railing than I did with all the puss and blood and so on throughout the film.
I don't know what scene is more awesome. "I kickass for the lord!" Or the lawnmower sequence starting right after. "Party's over." Both are just beyond epic.

a quick yes or no from a few of you will help me decide.
I know a lot of people liked it, but honestly if you just watch the final 5 minutes, you'll get just as much out of the movie if you had just watched the entire 90 min

Which already makes it several notches better than Halloween 6 and the Rob Zombie movies. I honestly don't even know where they could go with this franchise. Another reboot obviously, but I think they should just go back to the original movie and universe. Ignore Resurrection and just return Michael to what he was.. the Shape. A boogeyman. A legend. A dude who went ape shit on Halloween in the 60s then again in the late 70s. Then suddenly have the murders spring back up but never ever allude to it being Michael or show his face.. just the body. Because that was what he freaking was by the first two movies and even the fourth. A shape of pure evil.. nothing more.
Or go the 3 route.
