Avengers: The Children's Crusade #9 (Spoilers)

Postby 48THRiLLS » Wed Mar 07, 2012 9:12 pm

Um... what the hell in this comic was 'The big climax that sets the stage big time for what is to come in 2012!' :?
I mean, it was still a good comic and the art was amazing but I thought this was somehow supposed to lead into AvX?

it does.. Scarlet Witch is back. That's what the set up was... Remember Avengers Vs. X-men 0 has Scarlet Witch in it.

Cassie Lang is dead.
Vision 2.0 is dead.
Iron Lad is on his way to becoming Kang.
Scarlet Witch is back.

Disappointing ending. About the only good thing about it was that Speed is now an Avenger.

so in a way the only thing that was not "reset" from Disassembled now is Jack of Hearts being alive, since Scott Lang and the Original Vision are both back.

But it kind of put her back on the map early into the series, right? And obviously it was going to stick...they made a really big deal about it...I'd say early on, but since this thing rolled out like molasses in a freezer, who can say. If that's the biggest thing to roll out of this finale, then I'm unimpressed. And glad I pretty much all but trade waited on this.

There were a few other points of interest in the issue. Cyclops told Wanda that she needs to spend the rest of whatever life she has making amends for Disassembled and House of M and that if she ever steps out of line again, he will kill her himself. Captain America tried to get Wanda to come back to the Avengers and told her that she will always be welcome but Wanda basically said that she will never fit in with the Avengers again. Wonder Man continued his "I hate the Avengers" crusade by saying that the current incarnations of the Avengers are all armies instead of families.

The only interesting thing that happened was a single page where they showed all the things that have happened in recent months (Spider-Island, The X-men split, Johnny Storm being alive, etc).

I kept hoping they'd undo Cassie and Vision being dead but nope. That actually disappointed me.

I just find it utterly hilarious Doom wasn't even trying to kill Stature and she still died. It was like she was a Teen Titan and he accidentally touched her and the shock of that touch killed her.

This was 9 issues of fanservice, 10 if you count the special. What a waste.
