Why is it that because of the last couple of days and this video exploding on the internet, I'm almost wanting to side with a terrible dictator just to upset the people that are suddenly activists because of this video.

Essentially, he kidnaps kids, makes the girls sex slaves and makes the boys join his army. He also gets them to kill their parents.

If I was making a video I would have led with that.

Its an interesting situation. On one hand IC does support the Ugandan army, which is terrible, and might handle this situation poorly. On the other hand, they are very transparent about what they are doing in that respect and are essentially an advocacy group. If you're okay with an advocacy group that means well but may support violence(which they were clear about in the video) , then IC is for you.

What I don't like is the implication of some of these blogs that white people shouldn't be doing charity work at all.

This whole thing reeks of military and colonial adventurism.

The way these guys are going about it, it's pretty clear that they see themselves as the Great White Hope solution in search of a problem, and have found one that has already moved well beyond where they're directing their efforts.

Not distorting the facts, not trying to ramp up crowd-sourced military intervention, not posing with guns, ammo and military officials to look BADACE!...

Basically, there are a whole lot of "nots" they could be doing to avoid looking like privileged 19th century European colonialists out looking for the next great African problem.

These guys are in it for the glory of being a great white hope. if they really wanted to help Ugandan citizens and the victims of Kony's actions, there's plenty of help needed:

It's a neurological disease that has baffled world scientists and attacks mainly children from the most war affected districts of Kitgum, Pader and Gulu."

ICC can stand for several things. Do you mean the International Criminal Court? And if so, didn't you say you were from Chile, one of the few South American countries that has refused to ratify the ICC’s founding treaty and in fact the only country or state in South America to not be States Parties to the Court?
