What you supposedly see as a good thing for DC, you take as a negative when applied to Image...

Interesting...

I never once said this is good for DC. I just stated bitching is futile.

You said the old universe was "more of a failure".
That implies that this DCnU is a step up.

In any case, expect more "bitching".

Sales are up in general. Does it really matter who or why?

Well, the old universe wasn't constantly in the top ten.
Whatever the reason, the numbers are showing a success.

Therefore, this universe > the old one.

I'm not a fan if it? there are quite a few titles I enjoy but overall how they went bout this was hogwash and balls were dropped.

Totally agree that the there was more mistakes than successes.

Peddling "The ends justify the means", I see. Tsk, tsk.

How something happens ALWAYS matters, especially in this case.
The old universe didn't have a massive load of hype and "52 #1 COLLECTORS ITEMS!" behind it.
That's what is inflating the numbers on the DCnU.
Creatively, it's all the same people packaging their same old crap in new boxes.

Therefore, the proper equation is hype and everything started over > no hype and continuing histories, at least TEMPORARILY.
"WAIT."

I'm not a fan if it? there are quite a few titles I enjoy but overall how they went bout this was hogwash and balls were dropped.

Good to know.

If DC hyped there books in the old universe, then maybe they would've sold better.

Hype works, whether you like it or not.

Again: HOW something happens ALWAYS matters.

Say I just beat someone playing a video game. But I did it by giving my opponent a malfunctioning controller, and setting the handicap beforehand so that I would get preferential treatment in every way, leaving my foe with every detriment and stumbling block available.

But hey, I won the game!!
And that's all that counts, of course!! 8)
"Does it really matter why" I won??

OF COURSE IT DOES.

Somehow, I doubt hyping up Batman #800+ and Action Comics# 900+ would have impressed all the lapsed readers more than "ALL #1 ISSUES, GET BACK IN ON THE "GROUND FLOOR" NOW, LOST FANBOYZZZ!!!"

Hype works TEMPORARILY.

Sales are up across the board. This is an industry that sorely needed a boost, and it got it. How temporary remains to be seen, and I've got a bit of heartburn about the NuDC, but at the end of the day it was a good move business wise. Frankly, with the move to the $3.99 price point I'd almost given it up, but the reboot not only got me back out of sheer curiosity, but I started picking up titles from other companies that I'd not in the past. Anecdotally, I'm not alone.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how many DC and Marvel books came out in February.
