Yeah the guy they had appraise the lot is worth more than all 4 of them put together though. :lol:

The poster, since he was buying it for himself and not the shop or for resale, I guess at least the seller got a good deal out of it.

The mask, if it's legit, maybe. But again, not the least shred of provenance from a seller who is clearly eager to make his stuff more than what it is.

Like the Buscema Silver Surfer original page? I saw straight away Walt's fanboy beat him badly. So did the seller who realised he was the one in the position of power.

Yep. But there was an episode where a guy walked in with some extremely rare comics, the first appearance of robin type rare. You could tell he really wanted them but he advised the guy, who had no idea what he had, to take to an auction house. Then in a later episode he bought original John Buscema Silver Surfer art. He was about to wet himself and could only afford one page.

They really had no choice to do otherwise there. There was no way they could afford to make the guy a fair offer, and to knowingly misrepresent to the customer what he had is called fraud. With a camera running. :lol:

No they could have just said "well you dont have anything worth while but these will make good giveaways so I'll give you $50." and then they wouldnt air something so boring. :-D

If I wanted to avoid insipid superhero comics talk altogether, I'd pretty much quit this place too. What you see on the show is exactly the same as many many threads here by superhero comics devotees. Painfully bad? Indeed.

I'd much rather watch some roundtable discussions featuring comics legends every week (a la LEGENDS OF WRESTLING) than this show ... which does little to redefine stereotypes ... but I find myself watching it whenever I see it's on. Good thing I don't have a ratings box...
