Hell right now I am not even sure if Carl was trying to shoot zombie Shane or if he was trying to kill his dad, and that really intrigues me.

He was trying to shoot Shane.

He didn't raise his gun until Shane had gotten up, because by the time the camera cut to see Shane he was already standing. It was a clever way of filming the shot, but not much to it IMO.

Pretty obvious that it's "everyone is infected" by now seeing several instances of people dying or being killed and turning without having been bitten.

Because they thought it took longer for them to turn.

The only gripe I had about this episode (gave it a 10 anyway) is that I wished it would've been Carl that killed Shane.

I mean, the first time.

I suppose they still got Carl shooting Shane in there, but it's not the same.

I think this is the episode that finally put TWD over the top for me.

I've loved it since day one, but it never really reached that "LOST" level of fandom for me. To date, since LOST ended, only Sons of Anarchy has managed to do so.

The Walking Dead is now there.

Didn't the CDC guy explain in voice-over earlier that some people turned almost immediately?

And do the walkers have super-human strength? I couldn't tear someone's abdomen open with my bare hands, and frankly I don't know of anyone who could. The grip strength it would take would be incredible.

I think it was Kirkman, or one of the other EPs/directors who said that if the fingers are decayed to the bone, they're basically a sharp tool.. and once it digs in, it's just a matter of ripping at it like a rabid dog.

At this point Rick killing (via Strict's favorite method no less) Shane was not even self defense, but mercy killing. At that point Shane was more like a mad dog that needed to be put down.

That's what I started thinking after having the same question.

Amoebas wrote:You'd think the bulletfest when they emptied the barn would have brought them then. That a single gunshot can bring so many (even after they just made repairs to the fence earlier in this episode) so fast is a stretch.

Regardless, it looks like the Farm is finally going to be over. Bring on the Governor this October!

I think the unbelievable part has always been that this exact thing didn't happen much earlier in the season. It's as if the writers only just remembered all the shit that they established.

This was inevitable, given the proximity of the highway herd and the inadequacy of the farm's defenses.

Er...how could zombie Randall walk? Shane killed him by snapping his neck, right? Thereby severing the spinal cord, which IIRC in some zombie universes is one way to stop them, apart from the head thing. In any event, there'd be no way the brain could communicate with the rest of the body to get it to walk or move at all... :smt102

While I get the hate that Lori receives, she was good in this episode. Honestly, I think people are just nitpicking sometimes and looking for a reason to bitch. She made an honest effort to bridge the gap with Shane, to thank him for everything he had done for them and hopefully bring him back to the group.

In no way was she suggesting they could be back together.

And I like that it was Rick. While the comic did a good job of it, this felt right considering what they have been building. Again, Rick shows why he's a leader, and why Shane was never cut out to be one.

The last three episodes have been great but I just don't find myself looking forward to the new episodes. :smt102

Saw a few seconds of Talking Dead before I watched and thought I saw Darryle was killed too so I was bummed expecting him to die. And speaking of, when I did watch it I barely realized that Maggie was the chick on Chuck last season.

Glad to finally see Carl off Shane. And I really liked how they changed it.

I'm guessing the mass of zombies is going to force them to move on from the farm.

Is that dude that plays Shange going to be on Fringe? I thought I heard him say that on Letterman last night.

I dunno if he'll be on Fringe, but he was cast in Darabont's new TNT show.. a 50's crime show called LA Noir.
