Avengers VFX Nearly Assembled

Serving as special effects supervisor for Marvel's The Avengers, Chris Wells and his team over at Hydraulx (Skyline, Battle: Los Angeles) are responsible for putting together the film's highly anticipated cold open sequence.

"We're doing what essentially boils down to the prelude of the movie," said Wells in an interview with Starburst. "There's a whole intro that happens before you start even getting the titles and it's pretty big. There's nothing small in this movie. I went to a screening with all the temporary visual effects and it was pretty fleshed out. It's a long movie but it doesn't feel like it. Out of all the comic book movies and franchises I've worked on, this is the best one I've seen so far."

It should be a dark and gritty crime movie, with some better casting - not the Bennifer Experiment.

Seeing the turns his career has taken it seems like these days he should be directing rather than starring in a Daredevil movie. He definitely gets that genre.

Nobody loves me wrote:Hulk turns into a giant green guy. There's not much "reality" there. Non human based characters always struggle.

This is probably why Marvel had him turn into a human.

You know...I could actually see this.

Afleck is a damn good director and could handle a serious/gritty comic book drama.

The Three-Hour Avengers

initially, Joss Whedon's Avengers did indeed clock in at a robust three hours. But in a recent interview, the director revealed that the final cut of the film will deliver a much more reasonable running time of two hours and 15 minutes.

Unfortunately, Whedon said that a three-hour director's cut was not in the cards for The Avengers Blu-ray or DVD releases. However, he did note that we should expect to see some "extraordinary extras" as a result.

AMC is doing a $40 Avengers marathon. You can see Iron Man, Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America AND the Avengers on opening day!

yeah, if the movie does well next year there will be the 3 hour Extended Cut. Enough time to get the original film sold but not long enough that people would not want an extended edition.

I really enjoyed Captain America.
the one property I thought would not work on film and thought was badly cast.
I saw the film and did a complete u-turn.
chris Evans was excellent and the fiilm was a rollicking good action movie.
BUT I already hate the Cap costume from the Avengers posters.
(or being British should I say Avengers Assemble?)

The film needs to have one scene to make it perfect.

I'm sure it is there but I'm wondering if it will sound cheese on the big screen.
