The end of Hickman's mega arc, and what an ending!

Bringing Galactus back wasn't cool enough, he treats him like his herald!!!!

I think that this is one of the best Fantastic Four stories I've ever read because at the end of all this Hickman ties the whole story into what the FF has always been about: family. This is one of the most complex story arcs I've ever read and at the end everything is tied up nicely; I can't remember seeing so many "oh shit that's cool" moments in a single story arc in a long time.

Well done Mr. Hickman, great story.

Neat.

I've been re-reading some of the more recent Fantastic Four stories, from Waid's run forward. I just finished Hickman's initial arc which closed out Fantastic Four and began Future Foundation. I'm waiting for this story to conclude before reading all the issues in one go (same for S.H.I.E.L.D.), but the issues I've seen look great.

That was Kristoff, not Doom.

He is the one major loose end of the series that needs to be tied up as Nathaniel seemed to have a significant reveal about him in this issue.

He pretty much confirmed that he's still alive, and it was the "Gray Reed" that bought them the time they needed. So it appears that Doom has another act to play as the "great savior".

Note this wasn't stated outright, but, heavily inferred, at least from my perspective.

Hab, I know you liked it, but for others like myself the only thing "mega" about this was the wait for it to be over.

Duex Ex Machina future Franklin saves the day while the actual Fantastic Four stand by and do nothing all issue long. And you can't even tell he saved the day - there's just a bright light and then it's over.

But there's good news in this issue - after the battle is over, little Franklin gets to use his powers openly and is on his way to be becoming the man who in another 15 years will come back in time to save the day.... that is unless the Avengers and X-Mentry to kill him because he's too powerful (i.e. Wanda and/or Wiccan in House of M & Children's Crusade.

Say what you will about like or not liking Hickman, he did something rare, he took a character that had been a holding pattern for close to 20 years and actually advanced him to the next step.

And if you didn't like this you really need to have your head examined

1.) You are forgetting about Hope, who is supposedly at the center of this entire Avengers vs. X-Men event. :smt011

2.) It has already been established that Reed and Sue Richards are the only people in the entirety of the Marvel Universe who are allowed to have and/or raise a being as powerful as Franklin. Everyone else is shit out of luck. :-D

Totally agree.

I think the last time I read such a character defining moment that's comparable to this it even used the same line, in Whedon's Astonishing run.
