What did you watch with her?

An episode of Raw from 1993, an episode of ROH (from a month or two ago, I'm behind on it), Raw, Smackdown, and Superstars. We juat watched Raw tonight.

Cena's wigger character is the epitome of lameness. I guess some people like it, but it is super gay. And also, yes, it's poetry, not rap. He should have atuck to promos, which he's been killing on.

Rock was great finally, Jericho was awesome, and it was good to see the Funkasaurus. HBK is always awesome, and I wish he was wrestling in that match.

I know he recently announced he had a baby on the way though, so good for him.

I still miss the Hurricane and Rosey, and Super Kiebler, and Super Molly.

Hell, the Hurricane brought the best out in everyone. (the tag team with Kane, the feuds with certain superstars)

Day 73 (yesterday).

I watched a bunch of matches on YouTube to get caught with the YMotD.

First was Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio from Halloween Havoc '97. Not a whole lot needs to be said about this match, I suspect. It's an all-time classic with both men executing moves crisply. It lacks huge drama/emotion, but that's OK because the work involved in superior to almost anything else that year.

Next up was Ric Flair vs. Terry Funk in an I Quit match from Clash of the Champions: New York Knockout in '89. Again, not a whole needs to be said. The Flair/Funk-feud is a perfect counter to the Flair/Steamboat-rivalry as it showed that Flair could work both types of stories with ease and produce high quality matches. The animosity here is off the charts despite the lack of blood and truly violent spots. Another all-time classic.

Then I watched the Heavenly Bodies vs. The Rock 'n' Roll Express from WCW Saturday Night in '93. A small, action-filled match that comes off like cliff notes version of the better thing. These two have obvious chemistry, but with less than ten minutes to show anything sufficient, the match blows by without any real impact - ending in a DQ thanks to an interfering Bobby Eaton. Interesting note, this Smokey Mountain Wrestling-feud appeared on two PPVs in 1993: Superbrawl III and Survivor Series '93 - interesting, huh?

Lastly, I watched Lord Voldemort vs. Steven Regal from the Brian Pillman Memorial Show in 2000. This match is credited with saving Regal's career. Regal brings the hoss and Voldemort is his usual non-child/wife killing self. Good match.

Finally I watched last week's Impact. It was a pretty crappy show, all things considered. Heavy emphasis on storylines and light emphasis on wrestling. Not a lot of good wrestling either, as all of the matches were bleh. I guess this is what you can expect from a Bischoff-heavy show. That said, nowhere NEAR as bad as the '09-'11 stuff.

Match of the Day goes to Ric Flair vs. Terry Funk.

that and the whole drunk bar fight thing a few years back that got him released, but that was a great time for him and later on Rock put him over in a match (with some help from Stone Cold)

You didn't call him Voldemort a few days back. :P I'd like to see that match.

I only call him that when I remember to. It amuses me.

Day 74.

Started off with the YMotD. Today's pick was La Parka/Psicosis vs. Juvy Guerrera/Rey Misterio from the late '97. Hell of a fun match as they just go balls-to-the-walls with all kinds of cool stuff. Enjoyed it immensely, plus Juvy got the big pin-victory as opposed to Rey Rey which was neat.

Next I watched Ring of Honor. This episode (from two weeks ago) would fall under the not good category, honestly. The opener with Bennett/Perkins was decent. The Ciampa-squash was fine. Edwards/Strong was the usual good match that got completely and utterly ruined by only the second Dusty Finish in ROH history. And I hate Dusty Finishes with a passion. When the Inside ROH is the best segment of the show, you know the show sucks. An off week, to say the least.

Match of the Day goes to Rey Misterio/Juvy Guerrera vs. La Parka/Psicosis.

Road Dogg and Josh's "Are you serious" on youtube might be best thing about the WWE youtube channel. It's like mystery science theatre for wrestling.

Nope, Goldberg beat the Rock like he was beating a midcarder in a PPV during his streak.
