Seems excessive to me. Obviously a crime was committed but I think they just made an example out of him.

Earlier in the thread I said I didn't think they'd succeed in getting him with everything, guess I was wrong.

As to the deportation thing

If my memory serves me, he basically grew up in the US and has never spent significant time in India.

An argument you see pop up a lot in illegal alien debates is that if someone grew up here is it right to send them to a country where they've never called home, and have no resources or connections to make a living.

Some might argue that it is cruel.

I can't I much care if he gets deported. Maybe his parent's should have worked faster on obtaining citizenship for him and the rest of their family.

I'm pretty firmly in the anti-illegal immigration camp, but that is one situation where I don't have a good answer.

Just imagine what that would be like to head into a foreign land without any resources or skills needed to make a way there.

I'm just not sure spying on this kid warrants that. Remember the case did not hold him responsible for the kids death.

So you'd prefer felons (more than already are, of course) who aren't legal citizens not be deported and our tax dollars pay to feed and incarcerate them? Interesting! I don't think I shall subscribe to your newsletter though.
