It ain't gonna last period. If the best female Marvel book of the late 90s to 00s (Spider-Girl) was one kept alive only by a loyal fanbase, what makes this one think there's gonna be lightning in a bottle?
But it's still fresh in people's minds the last time Carol had a series. They know the character and while there might be some new clothes, there isn't a fanbase loyal enough to warrant this lasting long.
It's a sad truth about Marvel's female heroes now. None can have an ongoing now it seems. All the top tier ones have crashed and burned. Black Widow, X-23, Rogue, Spider-Girl (both Arana and May), She-Hulk, Spider-Woman, the female Ghost Rider, Carol the first time, and now Carol again.
Heaven help me for even saying this, but DC at least knows how to keep fans interested in their female characters. They know just when to make a new ongoing to one and when to end it. Well save for one that the top brass has a grudge against. Heh a grudge against a character and not a real being. That's comical, but alas true.
