I thought the Nathaniel Richards' character's exposition was fairly satisfying, while recognizing from that point on they are essentially in uncharted territory for him and them all.

I also thought adult-Val briefly explaining to herself why they couldn't be trusted at that age was interesting since she's been sort of portrayed as way too smart for her own good all along, and also because it's true that unless her emotional development was also light years ahead of her age she wouldn't understand that it would be Reed's staying with his family that would make it possible to win against the Celestials or have a fully-developed conscience yet either.

I also think that if Franklin is an omega+level mutant that Reed has really been remiss in doing more for the mutant community at large and should be taking more of an interest in mutant affairs in the future.

I liked that Hickman used the fact that the 616 Nathaniel Richards surviving "the great hunt", and being a father to Reed is what differentiated our Reed from all of the others on the council.

I believe so, it's really makes me wonder what happened to Tony's dad now.

Call it what you want, but, it clearly was a phoned in, recycled storyline. It made the whole AIM scientist supreme thing a big joke

It just looked like to me that Bendis was making this stuff up as he went along as opposed to Hickman whom had a plan for everything from the beginning.

I really would suggest you go back and read this from the beginning, because everything is really explained in detail. Like I said earlier it's a much more efficient storytelling style than most other Marvel books, very little pandering and fluff.

I shouldn't have to re-read everything for it to make sense.

I agree, it's like you're reading at a seventh grade level, it made sense to most everyone else.

It's complex I'll concede that, but, at the same time it's better than most other Marvel books on the stands, especially Avengers right now.

No, just pay attention when you read it the first time. Like all your constant complaints about SHIELD, where I had to point out to you a couple times the very next day after you read it, where and what page to find the answers to all your questions.

I'm convinced you just browse these comics, and look at the pretty pictures, and the words just fly right past you. :D

Well maybe he just needed to reread before the concluding chapter. The guy at my LCS recommended it to me, but the thing is I reread the arc several times along its duration so I didn't feel the need to. I even recognized the repeated panels at the beginning and end, I guess ed as much when the LCS guy said it went full circle. But maybe Punchy didn't take the opportunity to read them more than once.

Oh shit, tornado. Bye.

I don't appreciate you guys calling me stupid, suggesting I can't read, or that I just skim these comics. I have an A-grade in A-Level English Literature, I am a University Graduate. I'm not some idiot. I've read novels that are a lot more complex than Fantastic Four.

So maybe the problem's not with me, but with Jonathan Hickman and his limits as a writer? I don't have this problem with any other writers, only him.

I know you guys like feeling superior about me not liking Hickman, but I assure you, I'm not stupid.

No one called you stupid, lazy yes, stupid no.

You've made several observations about Hickman's work not making sense and it's been pointed out to you several times that they do and people have even provided you panels where you're questions are answered.

Ask yourself if the guy that Marvel is turning it's flagship book over too is really the problem where it's far more likely that you're just lazy when it comes to reading his work, seriously.

I appreciate that you put effort into your reviews, that's why I prod you to make them look a bit more professional.

Why is it lazy to not want to re-read a 30+ issue run of comics?

And I don't know why you guys are talking like Hickman is definitely taking over Avengers, nothing has been said. I personally hope it doesn't happen.

Far be for me to come to Pnuchy's defense, but he's not in the wrong here.

While I think you're exaggerating the number of people this run made sense to, slamming Puhnyc is odd as even you have posted earlier in this thread where you admit that even you realized stuff during a reread...

I read the majority of run (minus a few issues here or there like the Millar junk) but even things like your explanation for Galactus's ten minute death for instance just means falls flat on me. Not so much because I don't understand your answer (which I don't) but because the run was mostly just plain old boring and I don't care. Galactus's death and return faster than you can order a pizza was, to me, just a gimmick to make some readers say "kewl".

You love the run Hab and I'm seriously not trying to take that away from you. But just because you or Chris love it doesn't mean people that don't are stupid (edit), lazy, or "cuntrags".

Now as to how Pnucyh liked that Avengers dribble is another matter. I tellz ya, the guy is bonkers.

It's lazy that you didn't really retain much you're first read through. That's obvious by the questions you're asking.

I never called anyone stupid or a Newton.

That is not at all the same thing as saying it doesn't make sense, they are two completely different things.

I'm taking Punchy to task because his review will be published on the front page of the site, and I don't think he's ever given Hickman a fair shake, and I'm not the only one.

I get that you didn't like it, but, at the same time I feel you're at least fair in your criticism, which is why I haven't really rebutted it. I do feel, however, that this will be remembered as one of the strongest runs on the comic since it's inception :D
