maybe he's just playing dumb then so that the audience can relate ( now that i think of it, that's probably the case) But with the , "what is that, a prison or something?! that blew my mind!" and last week's "how the hell did shane come back to life!? what do you guys think this means?"

The helicopter was in the comic too.. it crashed near Woodbury, IIRC, and that's what led Rick and the gang to discover Woodbury, because they went to see where it crashed.

Not so much,I don't read the comic and probably like the show more because of that.
