Okay, maybe those aren't quite the exact words - but that's how it played out.

Andrea has proven to be a poor decision maker, but she's far more useful overall.

Lori talking to Shane is a case where she didn't think about his state of mind, didn't think about how he would interpret what she said, didn't think about her words very carefully, and generally just went off to talk to him without any kind of thought. That's why it's dumb/reckless/selfish.

That sort of thing applies to just about everything she does.

Andrea is only more useful in that they don't show the women doing laundry, cooking and cleaning because that ain't much of a show...

Again, when you think about what it takes to keep a group functioning, keeping watch is only part of it, and at the time, there were a ton of men to do that job...

Uhhhh...

If a veterinarian were about to perform a laparotomy on my son, I'd be concerned too. I realize the show didn't show the gravity of the procedure because Carl was up and about in like 3 days, but open abdominal surgery is no joke. And if there's any intestinal perforation, you're talking a 7-8 hour procedure from a trained surgeon.

Again, not something to be taken lightly when you understand the context. The reaction is probably more realistic than you would believe. Try to tell a parent that a resident surgeon is going to do surgery on their kid and see how they react...

While it was exaggerated to unbelievable heights last night by everyone, I think I'd rather have my best marksman on patrol rather than folding laundry.

In our world - sure. In their world - bullshit.

I say Rick's reaction would be the norm for any parent in that circumstance - "I don't care what kind of doctor you are. Just, PLEASE, save my child".

For Lori to freak out the way she did when there is no other option is an act of pure selfishness.

But keep trying to convince (whomever you're trying to convince) that she's not batshit crazy. :-D

And while it's not shown pretty much ever, it takes more to keep a group going than being on patrol. And she wasn't their best marksman.

Glen was capping zombies from a moving car as well and hit like every shot.

Point is, there is nothing that would have prevented Andrea from helping out with the herd if she had been helping with the dishes.

Being on top of the RV didn't do shit.

Tomorrow, in the real world, yes, that would be the case.

In a world where there's no one else there, not so much.

Exactly how did she freak out? DId she go off on Hershel? She asked if he was a doctor. Then she looked surprised when he said he was a vet. Guess what, so did Rick.

She didn't freak out. She didn't run out screaming. She didn't refuse the surgery to find someone else to do it. So other than concern for her boy, I don't see the act of pure selfishness...

Again, she never freaked out. I just saw that episode yesterday. She was concerned for her boy. She didn't refuse to let him operate, that would have been freaking out.

So I'm not really sure where batshit crazy comes into it. If she's not even supposed to show any reaction to the fact that a vet is about to perform major surgery on her son, then I gotta go back to the fact that you've simply already made up your mind about the character and are intent in finding fault in any reaction.

Ok then, let me ask you this: why is it wrong for people to have made up their minds about a character that they have now had 2 seasons to get to know? You may understand why she reacted the way she did in certain situations and nothing is wrong with that, it takes all kinds but some of us have seen a series of questionable behavior and added all of those situations together. Obviously, we see very few redeeming qualities in the character.

With the exception of Darryl and Herschel the group are a bunch of dicks towards Rick. I was really glad to see him lay down the law.

Because then you have the tendency to overreact to any decision the character makes.

Again, Andrea almost killing Darryl was one of the dumbest fucking things ANYONE has done on the show. I don't see it nitpicked the way anything Lori does get's picked apart.

So that would be the issue.

Again, having a problem with a mother because she reacted to a vet operating on her son? Who wouldn't? It just gets silly.

Rdrs forgot the best one.
