I'm going to assume that Ridley Scott is going to ignore anything that happened in the AvP movies. I know I would.
If you go back and rewatch Alien and Aliens you will see that a live facehugger never had an opportunity to attach itself to an android. In Alien, Ash is only exposed to a facehugger after it impregnated one of the crew, fell off and then died. In Aliens, Bishop is seen studying a dead facehugger while the live ones are contained in glass tubes. The Alien Queen rips Bishop in half because she is pissed and trying to kill Ripley. As for Call, the Queen in Alien Resurrection gains the ability to reproduce without the need of an egg and facehugger due to being mixed with Ripley's DNA. Because the Queen now has a womb she no longer needs a host for her offspring.
I also don't think Fassbender will become a host via the facehugger. I think he will become a host due to the goo he is shown studying in the trailer.
Well not just AvP, Alien 3 was supposed to have the xenomorph develop those type of characteristics hence the failed alien dog concept. Plus it goes with the whole feminine theme that's gone through every single Alien movie (and in a way the AvP movies).
But I agree, Scott isn't going to give two shits for the AvP movies or even the last three Alien films. He's doing his own thing here that's linking Prometheus to Alien. Really I don't even bother with Alien 3 or Alien Resurrection. For me it ends with Aliens.
The only good character in Alien 3 was Charles Dance's and just when you were enjoying his character.. BAM he's dead. For Alien Resurrection I enjoyed the characters.. but I hate that goddamn climax and the human-xenomorph hybrid. That destroys the movie for me. I'm fully into the movie UNTIL that goddamn creature shows up. I hate that damn thing. It's sad the freaking Pred-Alien had a better freaking design than the Human-Alien.
