Why the hell can't Marvel and DC learn the concept of "Leave Well Enough Alone"?

I take it you're a fan of the "Brazilian-Wax thong shorts and 8 foot long sash" look ?

You guys are ridiculous, there's this huge clamour for more titles that star women, and for more women writers in mainstream comics. So when Marvel announce a title that has both, the only reaction is negative!
I think this once again proves that the problems with supposed sexism in comics isn't down to the publishers, but with the fans.

I like the design of the new costume, other than the helmet/mask thing you see in some of the preview art.
It's a nice fusion of a military uniform (of which Carol has a military background), Ms. Marvel's costume, and Mar-Vell's costume. I am a little concerned that so far we've seen 3 artists draw it, and only Mckelvie's looks good.

Ms. Marvel's first series lasted 50 issues actually. However, this I predict will be cancelled within a year as this has epic fail written all over it.
I think it will last longer maybe two. The writer if I can recall correctly is decent and I think if marvel crosses captain marvel over into any avengers events it will hold up a little longer.

I don't like the yellow stripes accenting her shoulders.
However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.

She's not. She's Fraction's wife, and she sucks.

I have no problem with female characters getting their own titles and all but it's just that this current take on Carol Danvers has fail written all over it. Plus given the fact that there have been several Captain Marvels before her who came and went this is an indication that this isn't going to work for her in the long run. Why not just leave her as Ms. Marvel? To me I would rather Genis take back the role and continue to run with it.

For me this is not big of a deal. I would prefer ms marvel as ms marvel and not renamed, but at the end of the day it will be how the boom is written that will tell me if I stick around or not. I mentioned b fore have fond memories of Brian Reed's title so I just hope the new book can hd up to it.

Yup. Her sudden rise at Marvel just screams of nepotism. It's too bad, because I
know there are talented female writers out there somewhere, yet Gail Simone and Kelly Sue Deconnick get all the plum assignments.

I don't see why who she's married to should make a difference to her skills as a writer.
Her Osborn mini-series was excellent.
