Maybe the strongest issue of Snyder and Capullos run.

Batman is revived by some chick when she hooks him up to a car battery
The court also activates it's latest talon
Batman makes it to a safe house
and then the batcave where he finds Alfred has the Talon strapped to a gurney.
Batman freaks out but is told the talon is dead...or is he???
The court is still prepairing the talon
Batman discovers the Talons are actually dead people reanimated using an old greek method and the tech is hidden in their teeth. He discusses this with Dick and then Batman drops the bomb...the talon is Dick's Great Grandfather.
Dick starts yelling at Bruce when Bruce backhands him.
Dick wakes up and bruce is holding his tooth with the talon tech inside his molar.
The court activates their Talons....all of their talons.

Bruce backhanding Dick is kind of.. well.. a dick move. Isn't there a simpler way to pull the tooth out?

i actually thought this was possibly the weakest issue of Snyder's run so far, and damn sure a step down from issues 5 and 6 (although still a pretty good issue). and the fucking pimpslap of Dick towards the end just pisses me off, mainly b/c Dick was in the right, there were any number of other ways Bruce could have handled it rather than punch his son, and it was just uncalled-for Bat-dickery.

I see it as Bruce really nit thinking properly. The court has succeeded and is totally out of his mind. He doesn't care about anything but not dying.

also, i don't think we're supposed to believe that's Dick's tooth. i think it's more that when Bats swung at Dick, he dropped the talon's tooth and picked it back up. because otherwise, that makes no damn sense on multiple levels.

Dick was never actually offered to the Court by Haly's, he got out prior to any such presentation when his parents died. That was the whole point of Saiko going in his place. so when the hell would he have gotten the implant put in his tooth?

2. Bats is so good now he can knock out exactly which one tooth in someone's mouth he wants with one swing? nope, ain't buying it...

3. All the time Dick has been with Bat-dick and Bruce has never performed any kind of x-ray or MRI or full body scan and uncovered that false tooth implant and the Electrum which would be in his body from same? nope, ain't buying it...

Yeah, Nightwing sort of adds another wrinkle to that but it begs the question of why Bruce feels the need to manipulate Dick like that? Clearly he's not in his right mind and there's another big twist to come but for an issue mostly dedicated to setting up the coming crosssover it does it damn well.

I agree that it doesn't make any sense but after reading Nightwing #7 I can safely say that:

The tooth is only shown after Bruce backhanded Dick. I can't debate you on the rest of your argument but if I hadn't already read Batman #7, I wouldn't have even known there was another tooth. This may have been an oversight but it certainly looks like they want you to believe that the tooth is Dick's.

exactly. so then why wouldn't Bat-dick have known about that tooth before now? that's why i don't think it makes any sense for that tooth he picked up to be Dick's.
