I go to CBR and other places besides the Shazam mess, they're absolutely in revolt against the latest happenings going on in this book. Heck some are so depressed that to them it's ruined whatever good Azz and Chang has done.

I mean seriously what's wrong with making the Amazons more like the Amazons of myth? Has it helped everyone else who's failed on Wonder Woman before? Because quite honestly, I might be getting this trade now given how many people have said how awesome this book is.

Are we so darn fickle nowadays with "pro-feminism" that a female race can't act like dicks and murder a bunch of men after fucking them?

CBR folks still can't get past the fact that their Lord and Savior Gail isn't writing the title anymore :-D

I thought this issue was really good. Loved the dialogue and the great moments like the amazonsusing sailors basically as sperm donors, the revelation (at least to me) that the male amazon sons were traded to Hephaestus for weapons, and their refusal to let Diana free them !

Their lord and savior Simone is too busy screwing up Batgirl. DAMMIT.. I'm starting to worry I might actually loose this bet with Bluestreak now.

I read it, I didn't find it upsetting. Having them be 'regular' women makes some sense now that Diana doesn't have powers because she's an Amazon, but because she's a demigod. An island full of immortal, super powered women doing nothing but hang out in togas was seemed a bit to me anyway.

Yet people are all RAGE!! THIS IS WRONG!! I can't believe I'm actually agreeing with DC on this. I've never been interested in Wonder Woman before. Azz is getting my interests in making me forgo my ban of actual ongoing DC books.

It's in my stack of comics at home but I haven't read it yet. To date, my biggest complaint is that I still have no connection to the girl who is supposed to be carrying Zeus's child. I honestly forget that she is even there most of the time. Aside from that, I have enjoyed the book and now I am interested in reading this new issue to see what all this noise is about.

Have you ever read The Hiketia?

I think it's Rucka's best work on the character.

Ironically I also think he turned in one of the worst runs of his career on Wonder Woman, but, The Hiketia is a great read.

DC Women Kicking Ass gets upset when any female character gets depicted as anything less than a beacon of womanly ideals, regardless if it's part of actual mythology or not.

Part of the Wonder Woman arc has been to show how firmly Diana sticks to her ideals despite the fact that her origins have been revealed to be a lie. Unless Diana decides that she wants in on the stranger fucking/baby killing that her ancestors participated in, it shows exactly how "good" of a character Wonder Woman is. Talk about ignoring the forest for the tree.
