I checked my own dictionary and then Miriam-Webster online and neither place had her personal definition. If it did, I'm guessing it's definition #4 or 5. Maybe someone should get a ladder so she doesn't break her neck getting off that horse.

While the sticker is in very poor taste, I do have to say that it's kinda hard to speak freely (that 1st Amendment thing, you know?) with an entire Political Party just sitting around spending our money, and waiting for something to pop up that offends them...

I'm almost to the point where I think that all Politicians should start being elected by Single Combat, just so I can see them get hit in the face.

This woman is free to sell her bumper sticker and we're free to call her a racist for doing it.

You don't get much freer than that.

The 'Free Speech' thing was kinda twofold - A. A kind of underhand jab at the Political Left for having this habit of crying whenever they hear something they don't like (yeah, that fuckstain Santorum is whining about Porn, the right's guilty, too), and B. A direct shot at the now - embedded - into - society idea of Political Correctness, which is simply a marvelous tool devised to assist people in getting offended. Nowadays, so much attention is heaped on dumb bullshit like this in the Media, and that bothers me, because the more you control what people are able to say, the more you end up controlling what they think.

It's one of those weird situations I find myself in where I don't agree with a particular 'ism', but I firmly believe in the right of people to think and say whatever they want, and see pointless controversy as another means to stifle that. The fact that a bumper sticker even MADE it into the news in this country should scream volumes about how far our society has its head shoved up its own ass.

I don't think I expressed myself properly. I meant that the moron selling clearly racist bumper stickers and defending it by saying all they typical responses of a racist in denial ("it's ok! I know black people!") just seems like a Democrat plant. THAT kind of fake controversy.

Because I can't believe after three years of this, people can be this damaging to their own cause.

If you think people taking offense at 'Re-nig' is just pc then I really don't know what to tell you. It's obviously racist, it's not even subtle.

I can't post the link or the video right now because I am using my mobile but on Conan comedian Deon Cole had a great point about this bumper sticker situation. Using the definition of "re-nig" as she claims to be using it, in reference to Obama and his campaign for reelection, Paula Smith is actually inadvertently supporting our president. Since she refuses to acknowledge the racist connotations of the phrase and insists that it means "to go back on a promise, undertaking, or contract," she has missed the fact that adding the word "don't" actually makes her infamous bumper sticker mean don't go back on your support of Obama.
