So I'm writing a murder story, but I needed some info that I can't find online.

Do any string based instruments (violin, cello, harp, etc.) have strings that can cut your fingers if you play too hard or for too long? Are they sharp in any way, maybe steel strings?

Any insight would be appreciated.

The more a string instrument is played, the more one's fingers get toughened up. Strings are more likely to hurt fingers of someone who's never played them before than those of a veteran.

Blisters and bleeding is common whenever somebody takes up the playing of any instrument with steel strings. Eventually though, the fingers become calloused.
