Probably the only positive side effect of people like sharpton and jesse jackson getting involved is that they often get results for shit that would normally get swept under the rug

The thing is with these kinds of cases is that the police aren't sharing the details of their investigation, it would harm the prosecution.

The defense is generally wise to keep the details quiet too because it would hurt the defense.

So you have the media digging up whatever it can and building the case on it's own and it comes off one sided. But they are always lacking some peice of information or something because some of the witnesses are smart enough not to talk to the media.

This should be investigated yes, but given that you have a witness who witnessed the boy beating up Zimmerman I can see why the police wouldn't have arrested him then and there.
