How exactly does he make himself a target? By contributing to the site? Or does he make himself a target because
you don't like him.
Here's how I see it: Every week, Punchy makes a bunch of brief capsule reviews/summaries for the News Stand and the front page. He puts a ton of time into it and doesn't get paid for it. And every week, there is a select number of posters who just sit there, waiting to bitch.
"Aha! Punchy's paragraph is too long according to the rules my third grade teacher set down which I follow with an iron fist! Time to strike!"
"O ho, I see that Punchy is posting his threads again. Time to be pedantic and claim they're not reviews. I should know what a review is as I've written exactly one in the three and a half years I've been a member here!"
"Punchy's threads are clogging up my feed. Instead of 1) ignoring them, 2) ignoring him or 3) seperating the News Stand and the Asylum, I will instead publicly moan and call for a banning, as it's been a month since we've had one of those threads."
"What is this? A typo?!? Time to tell Punchy that he should have never been born!"
After MONTHS of this, I would get defensive too. The thing is, there are plenty of ways to handle stuff like typos or formatting errors that don't involve being a pedantic ass. PM me or Jude or Super or Punchy or anyone with the yellow/golden editor font. These things take thirty seconds to fix and it's almost never intentional.
If you have a problem with the content, by all means criticize. But if you're going to complain (incessantly) about the format, then do it someplace else. It's old, it's tiring and frankly it really only makes you look bad.
