no it says that the face of the past era with seven years off is better than the face of the current product
not to mention some random chick with broken ribs pinned the Divas champ earlier

Great match, and The Rock does still have it, but this makes no sense moving forward

Maybe Raw tomorrow?

Could have worked if Cena destroyed Rock afterward, but otherwise it's a bad booking call IMO. Match was good, not great.

Yeah I know. The Diva's match wasn't a surprise since management doesn't seem to care about the title outside of the cheescake value.

As for the past face taking out the current products face.....lets face it. Wheras the Rock is universally adored, Cena lost his shine due to the ridiculous Super Cena booking and he's become the most divisive face ever. And with Hogan sucking up to TNA they need an "all time greatest company face" to market and the Rock arguably fits the bill.

Agreed. The storyline has absolutely no where to go from here. Cena should have beaten The Rock tonight period. People can hate on Cena all they want, the man has carried the company and pretty much the industry for the better part of the last decade. I love the Rock but there is no reason what so ever for him to come back and win like this.

That I agree with. It was a careful match where they both tried way too hard not to be too hard on eachother.

Not as bad as Goldberg/Lesnar in that regard though

Stone Cold will always be the most all time greatest face of the company.

To the smarks like us that loved his attitude, but for the masses it's the Rock who easily had the more charisma and appeal to the general public.

Well... Rock tried I guess, but very obvious that Cena carried him through that one. Seemed like Rock was gassed 10-15 mins in really.

I don't know, the better business decision is to protect the guy who's going be there the rest of the year - not the one we'll see less than five times before 1/12013. You can't make the current product work if you continue to show people the older product was better. Sure it was better, but you need to treat the current product like it's the best ever. If you don't, the fans won't either, and in the end everyone loses money for it.

That has more to do with Rock having the sense to really withdraw from wrestling to keep up his mystique, unlike Austin who comes back every year or so and does something. 2003 did a lot of damage to Austin.

They've been doing that since Super Cena started in 2007. It stagnated till they started bringing in Bret Hart, The Rock, guest hosts and other who come and go as they please.

I'm also disappointed the Rock didn't talk more smack to his opponents though...like that I Quit match with Foley where every opportunity he'd say everything under the sun to piss him off or just talking smack t a fallen opponent like him and Stone Cold used to do.

Which is funny because when Bret Hart came in, business started taking those big hits again.

The time he refused to job to Lesnar on RAW and walked out? That was a gutting moment.

His feud was Bischoff as co-GM's was funny when he returned but there was a lot missing then.

When everyone realised his promo skill was on Benoit levels.
