Actually I think Morrison's New X-Men was an attempt to capitalize on the leather X-Men suits of Bryan Singer's X-Men movie that came out a year earlier IIRC.

Nope, it carries it. I just don't pick up anything related to any of the X-Books at all. Those book are too numerous, and too interconnected for me to want to pay attention to at all. I prefer to give myself the option of getting stuff that doesn't involve mutants.

X-Factor is the least connected to the other X-books. :smt011

From your point of view, no, but from the point of view of somebody like me who doesn't follow the event in the X-Books all that closely, well it's a different story. Whenever I have gotten something X-related in the past few years it's more than a little confusing to figure out what the hell is going on to say the least. It's not the the stories in the issues themselves are confusing, but there are certain aspects dealing with the continuity that's been built up in the past decade or so that leads me to just throw up my hands.

You like X-Factor and that's cool man, I have no problem with that. However, I look at that cover, and other than Quicksilver, I see a whole bunch of characters that I really don't care about, and haven't cared about for a good long time.

Perhaps you missed the part that I said it wasn't connected to the other titles?

I believe you, but Marvel, and DC as well, has this habit of taking titles that aren't connected that much to the other books in the family they are a part of and suddenly throwing them into a crossover. I'm not going to take a chance on that over a bunch of characters that, as I said, I don't care about. :smt102

If you read it you'd care.

Well, there's another strike against you. You're still okay in my book.

For now.

While there have been non-costume costumes on a variety of characters for a while, it never really encroached on the big icons until recently.
I put most of the blame on Alex Ross. He made the traditional costumes look hyper-realistic and people started obsessing over how silly that actually is.
