Or not. Here's a guy who actually saw Zimmerman the next day, instead of that night on a low quality surveillance video. He saw his nose clearly swollen and bandaged, and his head also with bumps on it and bandaged. He also heard the 911 call and claims as someone who's hear Zimmerman's voice often that it was him screaming for help.

He also debunks the racism claims.

It's all hearsay at this point, the video is also actual evidence, eventually the audio will be as well.

The Police would have done Zimmerman a big favor if the actually took photos of his injuries, hopefully they did.

the video where he's not torn up? how is that evidence? Ive brought this up a lot, but just because he doesn't look fucked up doesn't mean he wasn't attacked.

It also doesn't support Zimmerman's story at all.

Add the testimony of the head homicide Detective and Zimmerman's prior record and it doesn't look promising.

It actually mildly does. when you look at some freeze frames of the video, it appears that there is a gash on his head, which one cop later looks at. In any event, the video is so low quality that it is worth virtually nothing. As for the detective, big deal. Investigators often differ on cases. Others support not charging Zimmerman. Ultimately, it's up to the DA, not a homicide cop. Zimmerman's record includes an assault some years back, not a murder or gun crime or hate crime. I'm sure it will be introduced should there be a trial, but then so will Martin's past, which includes by his own words his own assault on a bus driver. I'm thinking a judge won't allow that, but the jurors will hear it before being told to disregard it if Zimmerman's lawyer is worth anything. Also, his school suspensions will come into play, one of them for weed, and one supposedly for possessing a "burglary kit with some loot".

And Zimmerman's lawyers will certainly ask why exactly his body lay in the morgue for three days without his family apparently exhibiting the slightest concern for him, not even enough to file a missing persons report, or check the morgue, or look into that shooting in his father's fiance's neighborhood. It may or may not have any bearing on the case, but a good lawyer could come up with a theory at least as compelling as anything Martin's supporters have been waving around with little or no evidence that have been taken as fact by the media and a fair bit of the public.

One thing I'm a bit unclear on, (actually, it's everything, since nothing is truly certain in this thing, at least to us), is what happened with Zimmerman's arrest. If it resulted in a felony conviction, it should have prohibited him from owning and certainly carrying a firearm. So what was the deal?

Heh, and now an enhanced version of that surveillance video has come out that shows the injury apparently.

From what I gather, Zimmerman's story is that he didn't hit back, but instead simply shot Martin. We'll only really know when the police finally release their summary of the physical evidence.

NBC had a little backtracking to do.

NBC issues apology on Zimmerman tape screw-up

NBC has completed its investigation into the mishandling of the police dispatcher’s conversation with George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin case. And the process ends with a finding of error, plus an apology. Here is the statement just issued by the network:

During our investigation it became evident that there was an error made in the production process that we deeply regret. We will be taking the necessary steps to prevent this from happening in the future and apologize to our viewers.
That apology addresses the “Today” show’s failure to abridge accurately the conversation between Zimmerman and the dispatcher in this high-profile case. This is how the program portrayed a segment of that conversation:

Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.

And here is how it actually went down:

Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.
Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic?
Zimmerman: He looks black.

No matter how you feel about Zimmerman, that bit of tape editing was unfair to the truth and to Zimmerman’s reputation, such as it is. Reaction on Twitter and elsewhere to my previous post on this matter, was brutal toward NBC, with many comments suggesting the worst about the network’s motivations, reliability and so on.

Does the statement adequately address those concerns? On the good front, it acknowledges the mistake and apologizes to viewers for the bad editing. It’s a forthright correction and spares us any excuses about the faulty portrayal. On the bad front, the statement is skimpy on the details on just how the mistake unfolded. Nor does it articulate an apology directly to George Zimmerman, the “viewer” who is most aggrieved by the screw-up. In light of all that’s happened, Zimmerman may be a tough person for a news network to apologize to, but that’s just the point: Apologies are hard.

Yeah, except most places played the unedited version anyway. I heard the first, not the edited version. :smt102

Now, where's Michael Moore. He obviously did the deed considering his film work. :P
