I liked that he seemed to hit like 3 or 4 finishers on him and could have easily pinned him any time he wanted.

Remember how everyone was talking about this thread being a civil place to discuss wrestling? :P

Wright should be pleased with this:

WWE has pulled Randy Orton from starring in The Marine 3: Homefront after several real Marines complained because Randy deserted them when he was in the United States Marine Corps before signing with WWE.

A WWE representative told TMZ.com that they demonstrated poor judgment in signing Orton for the movie.

WWE's rep told TMZ:

"Despite Randy's popularity, the fact that he was dishonorably discharged from the USMC made it inappropriate for him to be cast in this film."

Cpl. Mike Vinn, who was in a unit with Orton, became furious when he found out Orton was going to be starring in the movie. Orton received a bad conduct discharge in 1999 after going AWOL on two separate occasions and disobeying an order from a commanding officer. Orton ended up being court-martialed and served 38 days in a military prison.

Before WWE pulled Orton from the movie, Vinn told TMZ:

"I am disgusted that his face and the word Marine are being used next to each other -- real or fake -- because of the fact that he quit us, the country, and the Marine Corps. [Randy] in the role of a Marine is a disgrace to those that have worn and are wearing that uniform."

This could be promising...

WWE Superstar Yoshi Tatsu wrote the following on Twitter Monday night about Tensai and Sakamoto:

"Who is Lord Tensai's young boy!? At first I should kick his head off. Just bring it!!!"

"I just wanna let you know Lord Tensai is NOT Japanese. I'm REAL Japanese!!!"

"Open challenge to Lord Tensai from @YoshiTatsuWWE"

- Daniel Bryan's "YES!" chants were heard from the crowd at tonight's Miami Heat basketball game.

jeremiahvedder wrote:I don't care if he likes Cena. Read anything I've ever written about Cena in this thread. I care that I had this really amazing experience and all he did was shit on it for six pages of a thread because his beloved Cena didn't get felated by the crowd (and me, by extension) and all he could do was bitch, bitch, bitch and call us stupid. The whining got really annoying and insulting after awhile. Sorry this crowd wasn't full of six year old Cena sheep who only cheer because he's never allowed to lose a match, same reason why every kid from the early '90s is a Bulls or Cowboys fan.

thats not at all what he was talking about
the crowd, you included, basically shouted out "Vader is Luke's Father" durring the light saber batter in Cloud City.

Then, after the crowd spoiled the reveal, some of you still wanted Cena to "sell" it? What, act all shocked that they guy whose name everyone's been chanting for the past 5 minutes showed up? "hey, kids, surprise, the sun rose today  !"

Do you want him to react and adapt to the crowd or not?

Fuck, he could literally shit bricks and people would be mad at him for driving down the cost of gold

I can't speak for everyone else, but it would have been nice for him to look pissed at Brock since they hate each other in the world of WWE.

how long ago though?

with all the know-it-alls and behind the scene information we all know, like Brock's return, we also know that most of the "boys in the back" actually get along - or at least don't hate each other.

Brock "hated" Angel when he broke Angel's neck, yet when Kurt returned Brock was the only man he thanked for his support.

Cena can be happy to see someone who used to take him to the limit. He can be amused at yet another ex-wrestler coming back on his time. He can smile and accept the fate that is walking his way.

But, being surprised? fuck that

By that logic, we should never expect any feuds to be real, never expect anyone to mean it when they say they want to hurt someone, and just generally not care about anything on screen.

And there's a difference when a guy is not actively wrestling vs when he's actually there to wrestle. Or a guy that's moved on and isn't onscreen at all.

It's just not the reaction I'd personally enjoy seeing, and combined with his ambivalence towards losing the night before, it was made worse. I didn't want him to look surprised, but some kind of reaction (hanging his head that another guy was out here to rub it in, anger, fear) would have been nice. Basically anything other than laughing and smiling that a guy that loves to beat his ass is showing up the night after he lost to a guy that just spent a full year saying he'd beat Cena's ass.

You act as if anybody in the arena knew Brock would be there. He wasn't even in the building until a few minutes before his music hit, the way I understand it. We weren't spoiling anything. Based on rumors, we were telling Vince what we wanted -- which, last I checked, is what crowds are supposed to do. We were chanting for Macho Man all night, too. You wanna burn us about that?

Brock showing up was in no way confirmed any way or anywhere before, during or right up until he actually showed up. (Trust me, we kept checking.) The Internet had nothing to do with it. People are just mad we were booing Cena.

And you'll also note, I never complained about how Cena reacted. I thought Cena was completely professional and said the right things at the right time not to spoil the segment himself, since he was probably one of six people who actually knew Brock was coming out. Cena did a tremendous job both on Monday and at WM. I was just happy that he finally lost cleanly -- it should have happened a long time ago to so many guys who didn't get over because he was cock-blocking them (Miz, Del Rio).
