the crowd, you included, basically shouted out "Vader is Luke's Father" durring the light saber batter in Cloud City.
Then, after the crowd spoiled the reveal, some of you still wanted Cena to "sell" it? What, act all shocked that they guy whose name everyone's been chanting for the past 5 minutes showed up? "hey, kids, surprise, the sun rose today !"
Do you want him to react and adapt to the crowd or not?
Fuck, he could literally shit bricks and people would be mad at him for driving down the cost of gold

And there's a difference when a guy is not actively wrestling vs when he's actually there to wrestle. Or a guy that's moved on and isn't onscreen at all.
It's just not the reaction I'd personally enjoy seeing, and combined with his ambivalence towards losing the night before, it was made worse.
GHERU wrote:Its a movie whose script is constantly leaked to people who think more and more its ok to shout out the ending. Why should anything be expected to be real?
You act as if anybody in the arena knew Brock would be there. He wasn't even in the building until a few minutes before his music hit, the way I understand it. We weren't spoiling anything. Based on rumors, we were telling Vince what we wanted -- which, last I checked, is what crowds are supposed to do.
Brock showing up was in no way confirmed any way or anywhere before, during or right up until he actually showed up. (Trust me, we kept checking.) The Internet had nothing to do with it. People are just mad we were booing Cena.
We were chanting for Macho Man all night, too. You wanna burn us about that?
jeremiahvedder wrote:You're being nitpicky and unreasonable.
This isn't the first time a crowd cheered for a returning wrestler before he came out.
The "We Want Lesnar" chants only served to amplify the anticipation.
People probably tuned in to see the show because they heard about the chants.
GHERU wrote:o, the effect has nothing to do with the cause?
"we want the guy who should up to show up, but if he does nothing we said was supposed to reflect that he was about to show up!"
GHERU wrote:really, cause what Troy and I were saying was "the crowd spoiled what could have been a cool moment" not "the crowd was a bunch of big meanies to Cena"
GHERU wrote:if the crowd could raise Macho Man from the grave (not that the TV picked up any of those chants) I'd probably forgive the spoiler
GHERU wrote:but the "By that logic, we should never expect any feuds to be real" wasn't nitpicky?
the "We Want Lesnar" chants got old fast and ruined any impact of his return
jeremiahvedder wrote:We could have just as easily been wrong and chanting for nothing.
Rock could have very easily came out to finish the show and we were "just chanting."
Hell, it might've been that way and rewritten at the last second. Who knows?
Dude, go back three pages in this thread and read forward. "I think Cena was pissed at the crowd and I don't blame him" and "the crowd kept throwing Cena off his game" had nothing to do with a Brock spoiler. Just read what he wrote. He was talking about how crap it was that Cena lost and whining about how we didn't hug Cena's nuts.
You would've BLOWN A GASKET if Jay Lethal showed up.
"YOU FUCKIN' SPOILER MARKS SHIT YOU RUINED EVERYTHING"
No, man ... no ... we were just chanting for what we wanted to see...
GHERU wrote:The chants that were chanting what happened ruined what happened. Even before he came out I commented to WIFE about how the crowd was ruining what was about to be a cool moment. And you did. By the time Lesner came out I was so disinterested I started to close up the house for the night and doing the dishes.
jeremiahvedder wrote:You're probably one of those guys who hates that wrestlers Tweet. Shit, they're always ruining kayfabe. Because kayfabe is so alive and well in today's market. If Cena wants us to expect feuds to be real, he wouldn't do stuff like he did the night after WM 27 and smile and goof around and act like the WWE Championship doesn't matter. You can't be mad at a crowd for chanting and not be equally pissed at Cena for no-selling the gravitas of the sport.
jeremiahvedder wrote:You keep acting like we knew he was there. NOBODY knew he was there.
We were chanting so Vince knew what we wanted to see, same as we were chanting for Bryan or anything else. The only way we could've spoiled Brock's return is if we 100% knew. Major sports news agencies were talking about Brock being in talks with WWE. Nobody had ANYTHING concrete and I find it hard to believe you were as broken up about the chants as you're claiming. Disinterested... Yeah, right... I'm sure you turned off the TV and meandered away...
GHERU wrote:I don't care if you hate Cena or not, its the cool thing to do and you are soo cool, what pissed me off is the people walking past paying customers to see The Usual Suspects telling the line that Kevin Spacey is the bad guy.
