Why? The original was good enough.

"Fast Five" Director Justin Lin to Helm "Lone Wolf and Cub" Film

Lone Wolf and Cub, written by Kazuo Koike and illustrated by Goseki Kojima, is a samurai manga classic. The series has been adapted into a set of films starring Tomisaburo Wakayama as Ogami Itto—who travels with his son Daigoro seeking revenge against the Yagyu clan—as well as a TV series, multiple plays, and more. Next up to bat is Kamala Films, which has acquired the rights, with Justin Lin (Fast Five, Better Luck Tomorrow) attached to direct.

Kamala's Marissa McMahon is set to produce the film with 1212 Entertainment's Elizabeth Grave and Joshua Long, and Roberto Grande will serve as executive producer. The script is being handled by David and Janet Peoples, who share credit together on Twelve Monkeys. Some of their works by themselves and with other writers include Blade Runner, Leviathan, and Unforgiven.

Cool. I saw the section listed on the website, but it's nice to know the upcoming Super Hero Taisen movie will have net movies (little web episodes that are behind the scenes and trivia)...

Not Japanese or costumed heroes... but it is a lot of fighting with fictional elements...
