No, I think I'll take the Religious Lite of America over the crazy zealots in other parts of the world thank you very much.

Hard core isn't the same as zealotry. These people aren't weaponized. :-D

It's not something I prefer, mind you. But people really do believe in 3rd world nations, rather than it being some sort of social obligations that they miss a little football for.

Who needs weapons? It only takes most people a pair of fists to beat someone to death for being different from what one's religion says is acceptable.

Yeah, the US doesn't need religion for that, just sports. :-D

Actually, if anything I would think subsequent years are worse because of the tougher scar tissue.

I watched it yesterday. Haven't seen it since around the time it came out, I really thought it was well made. I did think about the plot, but I felt it worked for the overall "message" and loved a lot of the subtle flashbacks, example the backstory of Mary Magdalene and the priests casting the stones. All the scenes with the Devil were FANTASTIC and the scene with Judas being tortured by his guilt was also very interesting.

I was describing the film to some family members as if you watch it as more so of a horror film. I didn't mind the gore, it added to everything they described Jesus went to to become the ultimate sacrifice and die for people's sins. It's definitely one of those things to see it happen rather than watch it being implied in this case.

Benderbrau: Emma, you could learn a thing or two from Greg. Greg does threesomes. That's bi done right.
