I have (a) job(s) and work more than 35 hours per week at it, but only a few months ago I was largely unemployed for a stretch of two years.

I have a job, been working at Wal-Mart for a little of 2 years now. I average about 30 hours a week, wish I could get a full 40 but thats just not happening right now. I want to find another job and am actively searching for one but so far nothing else has panned out.

I've never been unemployed though I now face an evaluation that I need to pass to lock up my job. Good to those looking. I know Alberta and Saskatchewan need employees for my Canadian friends

I have a job through a temp agency at which I work 40+ hours. Been there almost two months now.

*edit*
Prior to this job though I had been unemployed for like 10 months. Not collecting unemployment.

I've had the same full time job for over 10 years and haven't temp unemployed for over 13 years. Before that I worked a lot of temp positions, as a student and a single parent (which hampered my availability).

"I do not have a job, I gave up looking for a job but I'm NOT collecting unemployment." I stopped looking when my sister's cancer started to get more serious and she needed me to do most of her tasks, and when my mom got cancer, I had to assume her tasks as well.

That's just awful. I'm so sorry.

It got hard with my sister because she began to lose control of her balance. Eventually, I had to do things as mundane as walk her down the hallway because she couldn't even do that without losing her balance. It got bad enough that she had to be moved to a hospice, and she died there only a few days later.

My mom is actually improving nicely, and the extreme swelling that rendered her arm unusable is nearly gone. The problem is that all that time not using it (we're talking about a year and a half here) has left the muscles atrophied. She's doing physical therapy to try to regain the use of her arm and fingers.

When my mom is able to regain most of her function, I'll start looking again.

I used to work for a temp agency and it sucked.
