Do you remember that scene in which Azuka is in the hospital and Shinji says "I'm despicable" or something along. There is speculation about him masturbating in that scene, and it is a powerful scene, you know, the girl there, everyone dying... Sometimes sex fleshes out characters, even when they're 14-15.

I thought it was clear that he had been masturbating ...

I watch the english dubs I feel like the cast does a really good job and also I was happy they didn't change the cast from the show on these movies

But there truly are so many hints that make it look like a sequel in a rebooted timeline rather than a remake.

yeah I agree also when you see the earth from space with all the red that is quite a site
