I'm just flashing back to the, I think, Quesada quote about running out of ideas once they go the Ultimate/616 crossover route.

I'd argue that they are out of ideas. USM is a good read, but the rest of the line is failing at this point.

Hickman's Ultimates is better than Millar, IMO. At the very least, at least as good.

And X-Men is better than any prior run other than Millar's maybe.. granted, that's not a tall order.

I think it's reminiscent of Warren Ellis' Stormwatch/Authority days. It's not as cinematic as Millar's run, but the quality is there.

Ultimate Spider-Man has been really good for a long time. The whole death of Spider-Man storyline and the follow up really rocks. I think this will be good, too.

I will buy this, for the most obvious reason: It will be awesome, and interesting, to see the interaction between an adult Peter Parker and a young Miles Morales, written by a guy who has clearly written enough stories featuring Peter Parker at both ages to make it really good.

Make no mistake: Like any writer/fan dynamic, there are things I wish Bendis would do differently. But there are clearly things he does well, and this concept suits those strengths perfectly.

I'm having trouble thinking of times when I REALLY liked his adult Spider-Man.
