A great season finale, very different from last year.

Overall Season 3 was good, but somewhat unfocused I felt. It came together in the end, but during the season it jumped around quite a bit. Season 2 remains, my mind, the best season of the show.

Honestly, I enjoyed the Boyd parts this season then last. Boyd was all over the place in S2 like the writers were trying to figure out his lot in the Justified world. The whole main villain angle I'll give you. But goddamn I'm glad Limehouse survived to fight another day.

Was there some plausible reason Boyd let that happen? That move was reminiscent of the typical dumb criminal on Justified but Boyd is supposed to be a mastermind.

Amazed that Dickie survived the season.

I think Justified has been consistently great. No single season stands out to me as the best or the worst.

I think Boyd was just overdue for a stupid move. He had been making all the smart ones up to that point.

I was waiting and waiting for Boyd to go bad in S1 and then I started waiting for him to go back to crime in S2. When I was finally convinced he was (generally) on the side of the law he went back to his old ways!

Do you think Limehouse will return for S4?

You know it. It's almost guaranteed. There's still the blooming rivalry he has with Boyd. Then there's the history he has with Arlo and Raylan's mom. Limehouse will be a character to watch in S4. No doubt playing to whomever new baddie, Miami, or Dixie Mob that come back to Harlan.

But I thought Limehouse just wanted to do his thing and stay away from Quarles and Boyd. Errol dragged him into a mess Limehouse did not want to be in. I could see Limehouse showing up a few times (like Loretta did this season) but I do not see why Raylan or Boyd would go after him.

I also forgot to mention how sad it was to see Ava treat Ellen May like that. Boyd has really led her down a dark path.

Because Limehouse will continue to mind his business while Boyd will become increasingly more hungry in power. He's sitting pretty now with the Dixie Mob in almost ruins save Duffy and really the only competition left in Harlan area is Limehouse.

Oh yeah... Raylan totally hit the nail on that end on how far Ava has gone into darkness. I think there might be a chance though she'll realize at somepoint how truly fucked up her life has become now.
