Handy with tools (no dick jokes)?

Postby S.F. Jude Terror » Thu Apr 12, 2012 9:36 pm

I'm getting a new smartphone and I want to build a case for it so that I can attach a mini bluetooth keyboard. I'm thinking I would start with a case for the phone and then make a flat metal or plastic tray for the keyboard. I'd attach the keyboard to the tray with some Velcro strips and then have two little arms on the tray that would attach with Velcro to the back of the phone so that I could hold the phone by the keyboard and type with the phone sturdily attached. Any advice?

Why would you attack the keyboard? What has it ever done to you?!

It's precisely that type of typing mishap that I would like to avoid with a physical keyboard.

You live in an artsy-fartsy town. If you find somebody that owns a 3D plastic printer, you can probably have somebody skilled with CAD modeling make a design for you that could be printed in plastic for relatively cheap. That way, it would be sturdy and still look good, since it would be a solid molded piece.
