which, forgetting about the early 90s EXTREME style of art in the first issues of the book, continues to be fantastic

I was having a hard time getting over the art and the apparently "in continuity" crossover with the transformers, but glad to hear the quality of the writing holds up.

the art was so bad it was distracting for a while

The Transformers issues were worth it mainly cause its mostly Cobra Commander and Megatron being passive aggressive dicks to each other

I swear, Gotham Central is already one of my all time favorites and it still gets better every time I read it. An absolutely perfect synthesis of beautiful art, brilliant ideas, engrossing stories and layered characters. Simply incredible.

I went to Mike Carbo's New York Comic Book Marketplace last month and picked up a bunch of really cool trades cheaply, including the first three trades of:

Currently Reading:
GI Joe Classic Vol 3 by Larry Hama, Mike Vosburg and company
The Mourner by Richard Stark
