Haven't gotten the new weapons yet. Got the level 1 Mattock though. Love that gun so it balances out in a way.

I lucked out and got that the first time I played. It's always been my go-to rifle, because I learned how to pull the trigger almost as fast as full auto. Usually, I'll bounce between that weapon, the Phaeston and the Vindicator. I've got the Falcon, but it's only a level II, so it's not especially useful just yet. Still don't have a high caliber barrel for the assault rifle though... :smt013

My barrels on level 2 while almost all my armor piercing addons aka the useless ones are on level 4.

Useless??? I spent many matches with the Mattock trying to fire repeatedly through the eyeslit of guardian shields, only to have some fuckface with a Black Widow killsteal with a single shot. I got the armor piercing mod for the rifle a week ago, but never paid it any mind until I just said "fuck it; they ain't giving me the high caliber barrtel any goddamn time soon."

So, I equip the AP mod and I'm killing Guardians with any rifle I use. Even the Avenger. Put one on my pistols and I kill them with pistols.

I used to slap the scope on the Mattock and use it as a sniper rifle, but I don't need the scope anymore. So, since I have the room, and still don't have the barrel, I use the AP mod and it works out pretty nice on armored targets. My Asari Justicar has been Reave-ing Brutes and then just shooting them to death. Used to scramble for a rocket launcher with those bastards, but now, I save the rockets for real emergencies.

The AP mod ain't my favorite, but it's anything but useless.

I dunno, it seems to decrease the damage I do to regular enemies. Only effective against armor I guess.

I just ran into one of the dirtiest "teammates" you could possibly have in this game.

He was a level 18 human adept and only had the Shuriken SMG as the weapon. What he'd do it spray at anything someone else was shitting at and if he got the last bullet in (which was very easy with his rate of fire) he'd hijack the kill. In the end I got the 75 assist medal thanks to this fucktard and at one point he was even following me and only shooting at what I was.

I wish I could've shot him and done an execution myself.

Last night, there were these two high level Soldiers in the group. They ran around spamming Concussive Shot together. It's pretty much all they did. combined with Cryo-Rounds, they were pretty effective.

Okay, so they've got their side of the board covered, I figure. I go off to try and pick a fight elsewhere, or to cover their backs. But as soon as I start targeting of Reave-ing something, these two guys would stop what they were doing to run directly into my line of fire to bogard the kill. I just got tired of it, especially since they weren't really doing anything to help complete the objectives.

So...something kind of amusing about me and my Asari Justicar.

I unlocked her when my Adept classes were all at level 19, so I had a shit ton of points to spend on her abilities right away. But since the class was so close to 20, I eventually decided to promote the Adept class and focus on that Turian Sentinel I mentioned earlier.

So basically, I had my fun with the Sentinel and then decided to start playing the Asari Justicar from level 1 on up, to get a better feel for how her power develop. But at level 1, you've got all of one power with all of one point in it. With her, it's Biotic Shield, which has no offensive (and little defensive) value at just one point.

So every single time I try to join a group, I get booted. This happens three or four times, and I'm about to give up playing entirely. It matches me with another team, and they're all high level characters. Like level 17 to 19. They start to kick me, but decide against it and let me join. Maybe they stopped and looked at my N7 level instead of just my character level. As far as N7 level went, I was higher than all of them put together.

So, we go to Hydra fighting Cerberus guys and I am scrambling like fuck with the Mattock. I mean, as rapid-fire as I can manage, scoring headshots and taking out Guardians with the AP mod. I throw Biotic Shield up over guys who are going for Objectives. I'm busting my ass to get to teammates to revive them even though no one seems eager to return the favor.

And then I realize something. All of these guys are getting themselves killed right and left. They have this tendency to just spread out so far that no one can effectively support anyone else. And they end up going head to head with whole clusters of enemies who have no problem outflanking and killing them.

At one point, I'm the only guy left alive, and it falls on me to complete the Objective Wave and kill all the remaining enemies single-handed.

Me. With a weak-ass, level 1 Asari.

I run the shit out of the board. I'm down to a couple bars of Health, but I'm surgical about my strikes, and end up killing everything and completing the Objective. The wave ends and all those guys get auto-revived, and it's all thanks to me.

Well, we make it through the mission and get full extraction, and I earn the top scoring position with the most kills and headshots and assists of all these tough, high level characters. Turns out, it was a good idea for those guys not to kick my low level character from the group.

After a single night's worth of playing, she's back up to level 18, and I've got her doing her own Pull-Reave biotic explosions.

Right now my best gun is the carnifex cannon. It puts so many rifles to shame. I use it almost exclusively, or with the disciple as a backup if I don't care about carry weight.

I loved the Disciple in the campaign, but in MP, it seems seriously underpowered. And I've found shit for upgrades for the damn thing. When I finally got the Spike Thrower, I ignored my Disciple from then on.

Anyways...

For most of the day, I've been playing on Silver and then went back down to Bronze for a few matches, and compared to silver, it feels like the exact same levels on bronze are just deserted. You're standing around like, "Where did all the monsters go?"

I never intended to play on Silver at all in this shit, because I'm a casual gamer, and I'm generally not so good with shooters that i could stand alongside folks who are really good. But I was surprised that I was holding my own. Still, I get into the bronze way of thinking; I solo'd two phantoms with a biotic explosion that killed them both instantly, and I'm all celebrating, because, "YAY! NO MORE PHANTOMS!"

That's how it would be on Bronze. Here on silver, though, those were just the first two phantoms. So, as I turn around the corner, I see two more of these bitches running up on me.

I've heard people say silver is not that much different than bronze and I just don't buy it.

Just tried out the Batarian heavy melee.

Ridiculously overpowered. And I didn't expect it to make the enemy explode.

Not really a fan of the Striker rifle. Maybe it's the sorta thing you really need to upgrade before it starts doing significant damage, or maybe it's the type of rifle that works best in the hands of a Soldier class. Or some class that can maximize assault rifle damage output. Might try it with the Krogan Soldier. But it wasn't doing my Asari Adept any favors against the Geth. Even at point blank range, it was just not killing them as quickly or hitting as precisely as I'm used to.

silver is really the only way to build up cash for crates. Bronze rewards are much lower in the same timespan. I roll silver matches when and if I'm comfortable with my weapon loadout and have at least 16 levels

The first silver match I played was a "shanghai match". You join a public match on bronze. But right before the match begins, the leader switches it to silver, hoping you don't notice. I noticed but said "fuck it, why not."

Someone else noticed and left the match. So it was just three of us running around on Condor, getting mobbed by Banshees. We made it to wave ten before we just got overwhelmed. Still very unfamiliar with that map. But even without finishing, we still got at least as much money as we would for full extraction on bronze.

But now, I've met two different folks online who have said the exact same thing about the Noveria board on silver (and on gold). Choose Geth as the enemy, and hole up in the basement. That seems to work out fairly well except during objective waves, obviously. If you're just in it to make creds.
