This was a surprisingly good issue. The action and plot flow smoothly and Mahnke really pulls out the stops in the art chores !
It picks up where we left off last issue with Sinestro captured by the Indigo Tribe, and Hal who pursued them is now also captured. As Indigo-1 and the rest of the Indigos confront Sinestro, he shows just why he is one tough mo-fo.
Elsewhere, Hal is in a cell, speaking with Black Hand. He tricks Black Hand into channeling Will, thus giving Hal the opportunity to recharge his ring off of BH's aura ! Said ring however is actually one of Sinetro's simulations of an actual Power Ring and comes with some limitations as Hal finds out the hard way. While trying to find Sinestro, Hal comes across one HUGE statue of Abin Sur, where we find out that Indigo-1 was originally an enemy of Abin Sur. Hal is blasted from behind and we then see Sinestro is now an Indigo.

This issue brings up some more revelations about the Indigos:
They have always been thought of as nomads, yet they clearly do have someplace they call "home".
The statue of Abin that Hal finds appears to be surrounded by Indigo energy. I'm thinking this may be, or have a connection to, their Central Power Battery.
It's been hinted at in the past that their motives may not be completely altruistic and we see that again here, especially in how they "induct" members into their Corp.

Nothing on the Guardians this issue but I have the feeling that all this ties somehow into their latest schemes to disband the GLs and their search mysterious search for "The First Lantern". I'm already excited for the next issue !

I got the impression that the limits to Hal's ring where because it was charged off the channeled Will of ILBH and not an actual battery.

Yep, you're right, Tim. I just re-read that panel and the ring does advise that the power charge is simulated energy.

Johns has said that there is a translation-key available for the Indigo Tribe's language. I hope they print it in the final chapter of this so we can go back and figure out what they've been saying

Man, the Indigo Tribe are really creepy, they make for much better villains than any of the other Corps have, whether Yellow, Red or Black. They just skeeve me out. I think it’s very interesting that they seem to have been founded by Abin Sur, perhaps as some sort of illegal prison? It adds a new dimension to a character who is too often afforded saint-like status. I liked that this issue found time for both Hal and Sinestro to do something cool, lately I’ve found that Johns has focussed too much on Sinestro and Hal has just been along for the ride. But here we had Sinestro going full-on street-brawler and killing one Indigo Triber and then Hal still managing to win a fight with a severely weakened ring. Doug Mahnke’s art was excellent as usual, especially Hal’s awesome Tron-Cycle. This book continues to be really strong each month, having Sinestro as co-star really has re-invigorated it, against all the odds.
