Dylan Sprayberry, the actor who plays a young Clark Kent in Zack Snyder’s forthcoming Superman reboot movie Man of Steel, claims the blockbuster has been inspired by the work of executive producer Chris Nolan on the Batman franchise.

When asked by ClevverTV about what people can expect to love about Snyder’s film, he said;

“when Zack [Snyder] and I were talking about it the first time, he was saying how Superman, they want to give it a more edgy feel like ‘The Dark Knight’ but also make it more realistic and emotional so it’s not just the all-american superhero that saves everyone. He has dilemmas and love and struggles throughout the whole movie, especially when he’s a kid.”

What, to follow a style that worked with one property and may not with another? But what they hey, the Nolan Bat flicks made money... so far...

So Snyder's going to be "edgy" eh? ANd it's going to be like the Dark Knight? Says the kid playing the young CLark Kent?

:-D

It may be a good movie (I certainly think it will be fun and like watching a 2 hour videogame cutscene), but let's just say I don't think that's an unbiased source.

I need this film to be good. The 52 reboot of Superman in the comics is beginning to make me dislike the character, so this would be a fine thing to win me back.

I don't know that I want Superman to be grim and gritty like the Nolan films, but oh well. As you said, it worked and made money, so might as well beat the concept into the ground...

This movie has one thing going for it to make it good-Christopher Nolan.
This movie has a million thing going for it to make it a complete piece of shit-Zach Snyder.

Just please, don't use Lex. Apart from Superman 3, he's been in every stinking movie.

There are so many other great villains they can use. Metallo, Titanno, Ultra-Humanite. Could you imagine Superman confronted with a murder mystery where the victims have the tops of the heads cut off? Culminating in a fight with a giant white ape.

I have seen nor heard anything about this movie thus far that has made me absolutely want to see it. Saying it is going to be more like the Dark Knight actually makes me not want to see it. Having seen many things about the next Bat-flick again have me having little to no interest in seeing it either. Zack Snyder wowed me with his remake of Dawn of the Dead, my favorite zombie movie of all, and he impressed me with 300 but other than that he hasn't done anything that I would list on my must see movies list. I thought Watchmen looked pretty but I really didn't enjoy the movie all that much. Same thing with Sucker Punch, it looked cool but that movie was just horrible on every other level. So Snyders involvement leaves me with less confidence that this movie will be something that I will enjoy.

Even then, Ross Webster was just an expy of Luthor necessitated because Gene Hackman refused to work with Richard Lester.

Well, I wouldn't use Ultra-Humanite.

But I hate that we're getting ZOd in this already. If Lex is there too, then that kinda sucks.

I agree that it would be nice to see something new in a Superman film.

personally, i plan to laugh at Twigg whole-heartedly when Marvel's GotG Rocket & Groot & Cosmo Show movie makes more money than DC's "grim 'n' gritty" take on Superman.

The visuals of Ultra-Humanite could be great if done right. Mad scientist type. You could even tie him into the creation of Metallo or Parasite.

I've just never been enamored with the design. I'd love to see a Brainiac though.

Brainiac could be good.

Some ideas I'm not sure would work for a big movie : Toyman, Prankster, I go back and forth on Myxptlk.

Major Disaster could be really good.
