Well, it's not just for the toys, but also to make them interested in the movies and clothes and posters and notebooks and back packs (and to a lesser extent the comics, DVDs, etc.).and just create brand awareness from a young age. Even if a kid doesn't buy the toys, they will probably spend some money on some stuff as they get older
But yeah, both shows are aimed directly at that age group, My 2 year old daughter loves Avengers (which is brighter colored and has Hulk, who she loves) and enjoys YJ (though the darker colors lead to her zoning out more often), and my 7 year old loves both shows equally.
They are fun for older fans, but neither show is going to convert anyone that doesn't already like superhero stuff or that doesn't like cartoons in general. I guess you could say both shows are aimed at parents to watch with their kids, which could be fairly true, but there's a reason both shows are on in the mornings on weekends on kid channels and not in prime time on a major network or FX or something.
