I assume you don't mean the Pittsburgh Steeler reciever.

As for the original Mike Wallace, I've always liked and as much as he's known for 60 Minutes, I'll always remember for the commencement speech he gave at Michigan's '87 ceremonies.

My first thought was that it was the football player and I was shocked, then I saw it was the newscaster and I was far less surprised since he was really old.

True story:

I worked for a business he used regularly... he bounced a check (hey it happens to lots of people at some point).

I was young and asked the company's owner if I should pursue collections against him. I was told, "no, we don't want a 60 Minutes investigation launched against us."

(In the interest of full disclosure he made good on the bad check less than a week later)
