Most relevant passage for me
this series is very William Friedkin and early Brian Depalma. 'Rockford Files.' It's an early '70s urban grit story. You almost expect Hawkeye to come around the corner and bump into Power Man and Iron Fist from 30 years ago.
That+short arcs=sign me up.

Friday night me and my fiancé took my mom out to dinner with my brother and his new GF. The Avengers movie came up, and my mom started talking bout the comics she read as a kid (that my uncle bought, her older brother) and other then Thor her fav character of all time Hawkeye. She "loved his trick arrows and purple outfit" or something. She is excited to see him in the film.
I choked on my dinner. I don't know who this women is sitting at the table with me, but that's not my mom.

"There are some big bads we're working towards. There's one in particular that it will be fun to put Hawkeye against and it makes a kind of conceptual sense, but I don't want to give it away. If you're very sharp eyed you might spy him in the second issue. So there is a classic Marvel villain that we're setting up as the first real big bad for Clint to go up against. I think it will come together nicely in the way that Kingpin made a better Daredevil villain than a Spider-Man villain. There's a sense that these characters fit together perfectly."

i LOVE Hawkeye (in my top 5 Marvel heroes). i love Aja. and i like Fraction more often than not.
but Kate Bitchop's inclusion may by itself make me pass on this fucking book. fuck her, fuck Heinberg for creating her, and fuck Fraction for including her. unless she dies in the first issue, in which case, bravo.

Kate Bishop is cool, stop being a hater.
Also, I'm really looking forward to finding out who this villain is that they are moving over to be a Hawkeye villain. I think Crossbones would be great as an adversary for him that's mostly been associated with someone else, but not on the Daredevil/Kingpin or Wolverine/Sabertooth level

I like all the YA characters. She's not the best, but she's good.
