Well, so was Dick Grayson but he was put back in the Nightwing costume while his relationships with Barbara Gordon and Starfire were dramatically altered. Why was that considered fair but doing the same thing to Wally West wouldn't be?
I also think there are plans for Wally, but it DC wants to keep it a surprise when he shows up. (I've got my suspicions where that's gonna be too)
