Rumors are swirling around the net that Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, which is currently on it's second season will be the last. Say what?!
The rumor is that Jeph Loeb has canceled the show, and will have it replaced with Marvel's in house animation company MAS. That studio is behind the current
Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon and next year's
Hulk: Agents of S.M.A.S.H. The new Avengers cartoon (which will debut sometime in 2013) will be more in line with the two other Marvel cartoons under Loeb and Paul Dini's wing.
As to why they haven't officially announced the move yet is that the we're on the eve of the live action Avengers movie and no doubt ratings will impact the show even more once that movie hits movie screens.
The only bit of news that is actually confirmed is the show hasn't gotten a green light for a season three yet which was revealed in an interview with show creators Christopher Yost and Joshua Fine.
If there's any bit of good news to confirm, is that the show's ratings are in an upswing. However, one must remember even good ratings couldn't save
Spectacular Spider-Man. Then again maybe the show can endure as
Iron Man: Armored Adventures has.
This reporter will continue to look into this story for further details.
