I really think they should have had Glen Talbot as Red Hulk instead of Ross as there was already a story way back decades ago where Ross became a Hulk prior to Red hulk.

Hack writer that decided to make Jason Todd into Azbats with guns during that Battle For The Cowl-Knightfall ripoff clusterfuck. The only good part was Jason shooting Damian.

I like Parker as a writer but even he can't redeem Rulk. The character is shit as is every character every created by Jeph Loeb.

Because he's a good character, his solo book is good, and he's worked well as an Avenger.

The Red Hulk thing was intriguing at first but then two major problems came from this:

1. Dragging out Red Hulk's secret ID was like the Hobgoblin mystery in the 80's which overstayed its welcome and just got less and less interesting.

2. Dumbing down various characters to make Rulk look good was another big mistake such as him beating Odin-Force Thor, Hulk, easily killing the Abomination, owning the Grandmaster and punching out a Watcher. Remember this approach is what helped ruin the Sentry as a character as well.

Also, I still believe it would have been more interesting to have Glenn Talbott be Rulk than Ross because at least his rivalry with Bruce would have been more interesting-especially over their love for Betty. I prefered Ross as the devious and ruthless army guy rather than Wade Eiling's Marvel counterpart.

All of that is Loeb stuff. It doesn't matter anymore, because by now the character is pretty much 100% different. His motivations, his personality, his power levels.. Parker made him a much better character.

And I like that it's Ross. The whole "become that which you hate the most" aspect is more interesting to me than the cliched "spurned ex/rival revenge plot".
